Brought tears to my eyes. The Lifetime movie, "The story of Gwen Araujo" was great. She was so gorgeous. Rest in Peace, beautiful.

I watched Gwen's story on Lifetime.  That was what brought me here to this forum that night last summer.  After crying for her for a couple hours, I decided to do something that she could not do... to help someone else perhaps in need... someone else stumbling along the brambled path.  She touched me.  Hopefully I've passed that on to someone else.  May her chain of love continue.  May we remember her and others who have paved the way for us.

Gwen was my inspiration for coming out publically. I was out to a few people before and had no intentions of doing anything more. I just wanted the surgery and go stealth as much as possible. When I read in the paper and then I follow on the net about all that had happen to Gwen and I also saw the movie, I knew that my life will change forever more. She was my mentor. I thought how can a young teenage girl be so courageous and yes she may have made some bad choices but her life was so courageous that I was so afraid. I vowed when I heard of her and her death that I will be out in the open and I will throw it in your face kind of attitude. I have calmed down quite a bit, but not in the since that I'm out in the open with my womanhood. To Gwen, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your courage and determination. May you rest in peace now. Thank you.
Sheila

Trying EXTREMELY hard not to cry (I'm at work).  First the video and then hearing how much she touched the lives of even people here.  That makes it so hard not to cry.
