MANSFIELD - A cross-dressing wife murderer will ask a federal judge again today to approve taxpayer-funded hair-removal treatments.
Robert Kosilek, 60, is due to appear before U.S. District Court Chief Mark L. Wolf in Boston today.
Wolf heard Kosilek's arguments in August, but refused to get involved because it wasn't proven to him to be a medical necessity. He heard the case again Oct. 19 and then tentatively scheduled today's hearing to hear additional arguments.

Really, it was just a stub of an article. But apparently the judge announced today that he would make a ruling on the electrolysis request on Wednesday.

Michelle Kosilek has generated quite a bit of news, and many threads here. You can search for them, or you can reference this snarky CBS News article from today for more background information:

(Although it claims Kosilek is seeking electrolysis for her legs, when she actually wants it for her face.)
Save your sympathy for those that deserve some, if he got his eyes ripped out and got skull->-bleeped-<-ed every hour of every day for the rest of his life by big bikers with huge sexual organs, it would not be enough.
I am not entirely sure how I feel about Michelle Kosilek's situation. I think she is entitled to estrogen and anti-androgens, because I think they are basic health care for MTF transsexuals. And I think they should be covered by medical insurance, whether private or public.
But electrolysis or SRS....? The US government isn't likely to be providing these things to poor people in the general public anytime soon, so I am not sure why prisons should be providing them to inmates. Besides, doesn't the idea of prison imply sacrificing some of the benefits of being free?
She is entitled to die, painlessly, but die nonetheless, better than she gave at any rate.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, the chief judge of Boston's federal court will announce tomorrow whether the state Department of Correction must provide transgendered convicted wife killer Robert "Michelle" Kosilek with electrolysis treatments.
Kosilek, 60, formerly of Mansfield, pleaded with U.S. District Court Judge Mark L. Wolf yesterday for the second time in four months to allow him to have his face and chest hair zapped while awaiting Wolf's bigger ruling as to whether the state should foot the bill for a sex-change operation.
He showed up in court wearing a navy blue pullover that accentuated his hormonally enhanced bosom.
