Title: If Only I
Post by: bnice2meplease on December 07, 2009, 09:30:43 PM
If Only I   (an original poem)

Around, around we tried again, if only I, if only then.
I tried to be all I had taught, and wished that I were what I'm not.
Around, around we went again, to counselors and Sunday friends,
They never lacked a word of "ought," if prayers were gold I'd have a pot.

But none accepted who I was, the fix was all, root out the cause.
A spirit maybe in his soul, deception or depression's toll,
"Just choose," they said, "and rid the stains,"
I wondered how they chose their brains?

"God's will for you is clear to us, so choose or you're not one of us."
I chose to live, I chose to be, I could not choose their life for me.
So, n'er again they'll see my face, I know now God's not in that place.
For God who sent His only Son, has offered grace to everyone.
