Hello everyone!
My name is Claire and I'm a M2F TS living in a remote corner of the Pacific Northwest. I recently discovered this forum, did a bit of lurking and reading posts, decided to join and begin posting ... I might as well make my second post my introduction. ;)
I'm pre-pre-op ... just getting started after years of repression and denial. My story isn't unique ... I knew something wasn't right when I was a child, learned about transsexualism when I was about eight or nine and then spent the rest of my time trying to avoid confronting the reality of myself. After my last birthday I realized that time was fleeting and I needed to be who I truly am. So here I am, taking little steps toward that goal.
I never married and have no children. I work in retail, which I enjoy as it's a wonderful opportunity to observe people, but my real passion is photography. I was an English Literature major in University and read voraciously, love antiques and vintage clothes, playing chess and all things film related.
:D

Welcome to Susan's, Claire.
This is a good place to explore what it is you need and want. There are many helpful people here and many willing ears when the road gets too bumpy. :)

Hi Claire, :icon_wave:
Welcome to our little family. Over 3700 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion.
Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams. Ask questions and seek answers. Give and receive advice.
But remember we are family here, your family now. And it is always nice to have another sister. :icon_hug:

Thank you for the wonderful warm welcome (hooray for alliteration!) everyone!
Amrisa, it is so-ooo-oo cold. And now there's snow in the forecast! :eusa_doh:
Janet, that's true ... there's no such thing as "remote" any more with the interent. I love Portland and visit several times a year. Hawthorne, Sellwood and Moreland areas are my favourite places.
Jesse, are you familiar with the Red Hot Pawn online chess site?
Cindy, that's going to be some swim! Lol!
Again, thanks for the welcome! I look forward to learning much and participating in the forum.
Welcome to the forums, Claire. Your introduction is fascinating. You have a varied life that sounds fulfilling.

Thank you, Genee! :)
snow.SNOW!SNOW! :o ;D
Time for me to buy some good gloves for all of the snowball fights I'll be getting in with my friends. It's a winter tradition among my friends and I. We all need at lest one snowball fight per winter. Plus all of snowman and snowwomen, snowangels, and snow shoveling I also will be doing.

Please feel free to take all my snow and keep it with you forever.
Just send your snow down here. I can use it to stop the local ice rink melting. Wish I could skate in my backyard.
Welcome Claire! You should no problems here. We all have the same type life
Sarah
Hello and welcome!
My name is Claire too :)
Vintage clothing is the best! I love sifting through all the junk at the secondhand stores in my area to find the real gems. I'm especially fond of those old veiled hats from the 20's :D
So far we've managed to avoid the snow ... just lots of rain for the rest of this week. *crosses fingers*
Sarah and Claire, thank you for your welcome! I've learned a lot from the forum already.
I love vintage fashions from the '20s, but I really love the styles of the '30s with those lovely long sleek skirts. :D

Those are wonderful! I found a blue silk one not too long ago and I was so excited I started dancing around the salvo with everybody staring at me like I was nuts. It was kind of amazing.
