One of the groups calls itself the 'Catholic Action Network' while it openly dissents from the teaching of the Catholic Church.

ST. LOUIS (Catholic Online) – I reported on the protest outside of the St. Louis' Cathedral Basilica on Nov. 29 when homosexual and "transgendered" people - upset that the Catholic Church defends marriage, the family and the society founded upon it - used the gathering of Catholics for Holy Mass as an opportunity to draw attention to their radical positions.
The protestors pledged that they would continue their disruptions throughout Advent and beyond. They seized upon a gift from the Bishop of St. Louis to help defend marriage in Maine as a vehicle for promoting their cultural revolution. Sadly, one of the groups calls itself the "Catholic Action Network" while it openly dissents from the teaching of the Catholic Church.
The article was written by Deacon Keith Fournier, who is less of a reporter than an op-ed writer. His conservative bias is well known.
The "radical cultural agenda" of Catholic Action Network (http://catholicactionnetwork.org/dec05/) is to promote peace and social justice.
Show Me No Hate (http://showmenohate.blogspot.com/) was organized to for the specific purpose of allowing same-sex marriage in Missouri (where it is banned by the state constitution.)
The ongoing series of rallies are to protest the archbishop's decision to give $10,000 to fight gay marriage in Maine. Both organizations would have preferred that the money have been spent locally, on human welfare problems... of which there is no shortage in the St. Louis area.
Despite the headline of Fournier's article, I saw nothing, in any of the news coverage, to indicate that these rallies are specifically "homosexual and 'transgender' activists."
BTW, Deacon Fournier quoted extensively from a KMOX article, but didn't bother to provide a link to it. Here is the link:
