"Magic" as I see it doesn't have a colour.
Any spell you cast has your intent behind it, good or bad. And there are 'powers', if you will that influence events.
You might ask if you believe in the power of pray. It is the same kind of power.

nope, but I don't believe in a higher power either. as for the psychology of it. I wouldn't say it "works" for people who believe in it, more... you can make assumptions about the causes of natural occurrences that would seem to point in the supernatural direction. so yeah, it exists in the mind's of some people, but it doesn't exist in reality. even if there is a physical reaction, the cause it hysteria, and just because I can't explain why the body reacts the way it does in certain cases, doesn't mean there isn't a scientific explanation out there.

But I do believe in the general idea Karma and some consider that hocus pocus.
we are the higher power; we carry it in ourselves. We are responsible for the reality we create in our own lives. There's magic around us everywhere all the time- in a puppy dog snoring in your lap, in a butterfly emerging from her cocoon, in a seed sending it's shoot upwards toward the sun. Doesn't matter if you "explain" it with science words or simply say the fairies did it, it's magic all the same. Magic is the wonder in our ordinary lives. For example, I cut my finger and it healed up all by itself. I mean, WOW, that's amazing.

If I defined magic the way you do, I would believe in it too. but I think of all that as the result of evolution, the wonders of science, the nature of human thought/the way we want to see beauty because it makes life worth living, not magic. but I don't disagree with your general message
as for karma, if your nice to people, they are more likely to return the favor, and in that sense, good things happen to good people, but that just covers human action, and what matters is not whether your a good person, but whether the people around you think your a good person, and whether they are also good people who think that good people deserve good things. but when it comes to cancer, accidents, etc, your character has nothing to do with it. If defined in a certain way, I would agree that "karma" exists, but it's not some divine semiconscious force that tries to balance everything out. It's just the logical result of being "good," of making people happy, of staying out of trouble/not doing dangerous/"bad" things, drugs maybe, etc etc.

tomato, tomato. You've just described how real magic works, and how else would it work? poof smoke and mirrors? All that stuff isn't really magic, it's what I like to refer to as "fantasy". But there's room in the world for both,
as long as there aren't organizations taken seriously when they stand up and declare that some big sky daddy is pissed off because I was born transsexual, and furthermore is gonna get me for that. But that's ridiculous because by their own admission their sky daddy made me this way. Maybe he had an off day.. no wait, this fantasy of theirs doesn't make mistakes. That must mean that I'm not a mistake after all! But now I've already gone way beyond their ability to put 2 brain cells together in any sort of logical fashion. I think they're overthinkin' it lol
Magick to me doesn't have a color, it is neither black, white, grey, green or what have you. Just like nature, it has its light and shadow aspects (sorry if this doesn't make sense). It depends on what your intent is for working your magick. But everything you do mundane or magickal has its effects on the world, everything and everyone is connected. Do good you will recieve good do bane you will recieve bane. Shadow magick as I like to use it is dark but yet if used for positive can have great effects on your person. Useing shadow magick to reach inside and heal tramas and soul retrieval and necromancy can be very positive and healthy. With necromancy you learn not to fear death and you learn so much about death and you work with spirits. I'm not going to go in detail as I've haven't practiced necromancy as I have enough exp with spirits and death as it is.
Magic doesn't exist to me. For me, it's all about will. If you want something hard enough you'll probably tweak things (consciously or subconsciously) to make sure you get the desired result, which is what I chalk most magic to be up to until proven otherwise.
