Title: New Years Resolution
Post by: Inphyy on December 20, 2009, 09:34:21 PM
Bonjour everyone!

As you can examine from the title, this is about New Years and the resolutions involved from this "Holiday".

This might seem crazy since it's still 5 days 'till Christmas and 12 days 'till New Years. But do any of you guys have your resolutions already intact in your mind?

For me. I do...BUT that'll likely change as the new year approaches!

My New Years resolutions are:

- Not to take everything so serious

- Gain 5 pounds

- Become rich and famous Give money to the poor

And finally...

- Discover at least one thing that brings me TRUE happiness

I believe Janet means losing her past self and fully and undeniably being female.

I set goals rather than make resolutions. Two goals I have is to complete a book of essays and to make speeches to groups about transgender issues.

My resolutions;
- Do more art! finish at least 1 piece a month!
- Finish my Otherkin book! (attempt nr. 3 atm,..)
- Make backups of my writing so I don't loose it all again!
- Get more exercise! (lift weights so I can have pecs worth showing off when the chesticles are gone, and who make scar placement easier.)
- Finish my short stories and articles instead of collecting a hoard of incomplete work.
- Publish! (Probably myself, through an e-book website.. but STILL!)
- Apply for the art grant in spring and suggest I use the money to make the pieces that have been rattling 'round inside my head for about a year. And if I get it... Rent Workspace + Make the art!
- Stop selling myself short!
- Be a better parent. Pay better attention, give more attention, be more helpful, all that... stuff
- Get my dreadlocks started by December.

Fifty pounds in two months?
Are you sure that's reasonable?

If I fast starting now, yes I think it's realistic. That's 50 days till Valentines, and fasting will make me drop a 1 lb a day.

I'd explain how that's a really bad idea, but I think you know that, and won't listen anyway...

megan thats unhealthy and unsustainable. yes you will lose weight and yes you may make your goal the opperative word is may because you will murder your matabolism making it harder and harder to lose weight. you also will infact be exchanging muscle tissue (metabolism creator) for fat so your weight will go down but your percent bodyfat will go up. the end result is your weight loss will slow then stop as your body tries to acheive some kind of ballance you will have to decrease your food intake again  to continue to lose. the body will again slow it down to achieve ballance end result anerexia nervousa followed by death. please consider long term health consequences and reevaluate your time frame and goals
