Title: what a wonderful christmas
Post by: mL on December 24, 2009, 03:59:01 PM
My mother doesn't want to bother driving to bring me home to spend Christmas at her house. She says she's too tired and she wants me to take the bus for an hour so she can drive me from a closer location just so she can save fifteen minutes. It only takes thirty minutes to get to the place. She yelled at me on the phone for this and so I just told her I won't come home for Christmas if it's too bothersome for her. Then she hangs up on me without saying anything. lovely mother.

What a cop-out!  I am sorry but ti sounds like she doesn't want you home for Christmas.  Does she know that you are TS?

She's blaming ME for me not wanting to take way more time to get to her house than it would take if she just drove me.
She doesn't know. She doesn't have a clue what TS is.

Janet

I'm lost , what does TS have to do with how you get to mom's house?

I don't expect anyone to give me a ride anywhere no matter the timing. Never have. If I want to be there, I will get there, if not I won't. I certainly don't expect someone who is making the meal and putting up their house to be my chauffeur too.

^ because being TS could be a reason why she doesn't want me there.
But that's not the issue because she doesn't know that.
and the thing is, I can't drive yet...

I was thinking that if TS was the issue maybe she just didn't want to deal with it.  And not knowing what your (both of you) plans were, it would be unless to comment further.

But it is Christmas.  And I would try and meet her half way, figuratively.  I would walk if I was invited somewhere.  It is just too lonely at Christmas.

actually.. I think I will try to go there. There's other people over there that I'd love to see. loneliness is terrible on Christmas

Down by law with this.  OK, so the bus takes longer, bring an MP3 Player, or a book, or both.  It's not like your being forced to march though chest high snow for five miles or something.
