Title: SRS with Suporn
Post by: Valerie Elizabeth on December 30, 2009, 12:11:36 AM
I asked this in another forum, but didn't get any responses.  I think it might have been in the wrong section anyway.

I'm having surgery with Dr. Suporn in less than 2 months.  I just wanted to know how people felt about scars after the surgery.  How visible, etc.

This isn't going to change my mind about anything, I just want to get other peoples thoughts and feedback.

Please let me know.

Valerie

Hey both Val and Milktea, my SRS with Suporn is March 12 so it seems it's pretty likely I'll be seeing you both there. Just found out I'm going it solo so that's pretty nervewracking... but I heard it's one of the best places to be for aftercare and I'm not too concerned. We should find a way to keep in touch, and wow, we all seem rather young too!

That sounds like it could be fun.

I'm sorry you have to go solo, but I have heard a lot of good things about their aftercare too.

I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that I can hit some beaches (even if I can't go swimming) after, but I have a feeling I might not be feeling to great.  It would be nice to catch a little sun cause I'm getting tired of NY snow and cold.

Milktea what dates are you going to be there?

I think it's cool that we're all young too!

Hi Valerie!

I'm about six months post-op from Dr Suporn, so if you have any questions about anything I'm happy to help.  :D

I was worried about scarring too, but I'm amazed at how little there is already, and it will probably still diminish over time. The only visible scars are the incisions on either side, and these are slight enough and a similar colour to the neighbouring skin that they blend in fairly well, and are, I think, very difficult to see if you have a little hair down there. They may be more visible if you go hairless though. I have a tendency to scar fairly easily and nastily, so yours may be even less noticable.

I had an incision above the clitoral hood as a revision before I left (Dr Suporn is an absolute perfectionist and may give you a revision before you leave if he thinks the result can be made even better, if this happens just roll with it) and the incision there is only visible if you are really looking hard for it; I have trouble locating it now. The scars from my boob job were more noticable than from SRS, and those scars have faded nicely too.

If you are wanting to catch up with eachother there are plenty of opportunities! Everyone meets in the restaurant of the hotel for breakfast and dinner, and there is plenty of socialising at the clinic during the day.

Make sure you sign up for the day trips! They go to the beach house, the elephant shows, the beautiful gardens, the floating markets, the jewelry market and other places. Just don't forget your donut cushion!  ;D

I just hope I have the energy to do all of that stuff! I am rather bummed out I can't bring my guitar but I am going to at least try to bring my ukelele to keep me occupied. I'm pretty excited, only a few weeks until I'm on the plane going from healthy and active to recovery. It's pretty hilarious how the thing I dread the most is the flight, as I do not fly well and the notion of spanning an entire ocean is kind of a really daunting thing but once I am there it will hit me. I can do it though, I'm sure.

Thanks for offering to be here though, it's very appreciated!

Most reasonably competant surgeons now-a-days seem to be pretty good avoiding too much scaring.

I do suggest to you that, between now and your ops, you eat good food, drink lots of fresh water, some basic exercise and fresh air and generally build your health. No alcohol.

Healthy people recover so much better than unhealthy ones. Don't take food suppliments unless directed though.

Apart from that, if any of you fancys swapping places........... :D

Hi Birdie,

Did you try any kind of oil/salve on the scars, like vitamin E or bio-Oil ?

I'm at 2.5 weeks post op, and know exactly what scar lines you are talking about, as they are still wounds on me, but I thought after they heal in a couple months (if you apply too soon, it can cause granulations/irregularities), I might try bioOil, it touts being able to remove discoloration.   It worked pretty good on my FFS scars from a year ago. (still using it).

Ohhhh, and best wishes and happy healing to the other women posting here that are going to Chonburi... you're in good hands with Dr Suporn and his wonderfuly staff!  (10 more days here, hoping I don't need a revision before leaving, so far so good ! lol.....)

Nope, I only used the dermazine and betadine that the clinic provided. I thought about using something to diminish the scars, but I wasn't sure which treatments were best and there was so much conflicting information floating about that in the end I just gave up!  :)

Although I have heard that massage can help scar tissue, so maybe the swirling motion of dynamic dilation may help massage that tissue? The clinic may even have recommendations for how to minimize scarring, they are full of useful information! Especially Sophie, she's a life saver.  :D

Be careful with massage on healed wounds.

The skin is made of of layers. Massage moves the top layers over the lower. On healthy skin it can cause tissue breakdown. In scar tissue, it can cause wounds to open.

In hospitals, for many years, nurses use to give bedbound patinents regular back rubs using oil and meth. This is no-longer done because it was discovered it dows more harm than good, for this very reason.

Even applying topical medications is now recommended to be done gently.

Scar formation is generally a matter of how the surgeon cuts. If it's going to happen it will.

Well, I made it through surgery.  I've been post op for about 27 hours.  Pain is bearable now, but was pretty bad the first 12 hours.

Dr Suporn is really nice, and all of his staff are very nice as well.

Hospital food here is not bad at all.

Just an update.

Pain is pretty tolerable right now.  The organ juice is AMAZING.  It's like blood orange and pulpy. mhhhmmmm.

Oh, and word of caution.  Sunburn is no fun before surgery.  I went to Pattaya two days before and got some random burns.  I put SPF 70 on twice in four hours and got some random burns.  No problwm noww wirh paing killers.

Good luck for you Valerie, it sounds very interesting but SO expensive (based on what FlanHusky posted) but I know that there is different rules for Thais and foreigners, not at Suporn's clinic but I will have my SRS done for "just" 50000 Baht which is about 1000 Euros or 1450 US or 950 Pounds.

But to have it done for this price you need to live in Thailand as well as pay NI in Thailand which I do so I'm guess I'm just lucky with that one as it's big different between 50K and 500K Baht.

What is it with all you youngsters and pain killers? LOL ;)

Actually I really did go through both my ops with nothing stronger than paracetamol, and the nurses all thought I was crazy, which I probably was!  What they didn't know was that I was more scared of needles than I was of the pain...

More seriously - Glad to hear you made it through ok Valerie. I wish you a speedy recovery and a safe return home.

I'm pretty amazed at how good my vagina looks 4 days after surgery.  I thought it would look a lot worse, but it looks really really good.  Pretty swollen, but looks like any other vagina I've ever seen.

I have like zero scaring.  I <3 Dr. Suporn.  I have a fully sensitive clitoris, as he touched it to check and I can feel it.  Best decision of my life.

Well maybe you spend too much of your time on forums, reading news and watching YouTube. Such things are de-activating the brain so to "check messages and news" becomes the most important of the day. Why I say so? Because you've got almost 8K posts in ONLY this forum and how many other forums do you use?

A PC and Internet is all you need to make money and spending time on creative work is better then spending time (for free) in forums even though forums also need you for sure but you need to ask yourself, what do you get out of it beside living in a caravan?

Post by: Valerie Elizabeth on March 04, 2010, 07:00:02 AM
Thanks everyone.  I got discharged from the hospital today.  Did my first two dilation sessions, and they weren't painful at all.  All I felt was some pressure when I reached the end of my vaginal cavity (which is 7 inches exactly).

All swelling aside, Dr. Suporn gave me a very natural looking vagina and my labias are long enough to cover my vaginal opening similarly to how a natal female's vagina is.  My clitoris is sensitive, but my labias are very swollen and don't have any feeling right now.  I'm not too worried.  I also have almost no visible scar.  The scars doesn't go past half way up my vagina.  They are like 2 inches long, from vaginal opening forward.  Looking from the front, they are not visible.

I am so pleased with Dr. Suporn that I don't know what to say or think.  I would recommend him to anyone and everyone who wants MtF SRS.  The staff is amazing.  Dr. Suporn visited me everyday in the hospital (can't say for the hotel cause it's my first day in the hotel).  The clinic staff visited me a couple times every day during my stay the in hospital, as well as having one clinic staff member sleep in the room the night after surgery.  The clinic is gorgeous, and Thai Tea is delicious.

Peeing is a little hard as my urethra is a little swollen still, but it comes out generally pretty straight, although sometimes it kinda sprays in a circle all over the place.  It's been getting better all day.

The hotel is pretty nice, normal hotel.  Nothing to complain about really except for the water and the internet.  You get two bottles complementary a day for drinking, but you have to pay for anything more and it's kinda pricey.  Order water by the case from the clinic as it's pretty cheap.  Might even be cheaper at 7-eleven.  The internet costs about $95 for 30 days (in hours) of internet time.  It's totally worth it, but expensive.  Breakfast is pretty good.  The usually have at least one kind of american style food (pancakes [super good], french toast, etc).  They also have omelets made to order, eggs, rice and chicken, greens and pork, cereal, yogurt, delicious juice, all sorts of goodies.  I love this place.  The view beneath the hotel is so-so, but the back ground is gorgeous.  I love Thailand.

The hospital is pretty gorgeous.  It's currently under renovations so some rooms have a couple extra things in them that are being stored there.  X-ray room for example had a stack of chairs.  No big deal.  Everything was sterile, they all wore gloves, and opened all sharps in front of me.  Most nurses wore the masks too.  The hospital room is very nice, and the bed is super comfy.  I have to admit, I was the first patient to try out their new air bed and it was totally awesome.  If they get good feedback (which they did from me) they are going to get them for all the SRS patients rooms.  The nurses were very prompt when I called for them, and stuck to a strict painkiller schedule.  I was only allowed so much morphine, paracetamol, and tramadol.  I thought the food was very good, and the menu was pretty awesome.  My only complaint about the hospital is the internet.  about $6.00 a day for internet.  About $50 for my 8 days in the hospital.  To me, it's totally worth it.  I needed to keep in contact with my friends and family.

Also, there is a safe in the hospital room and the hotel room large enough for my tote purse full of stuff, my macbook, and my dilator box.

I wish he offered financing, but it's totally worth it.  You should take a loan or do something to finance it.  It's very much the best decision I've ever made.  I'm glad I chose him.

I know someone that just had SRS with Dr Supporn.  She  is 1 wk out and has already told me that she had two orgasms already.  He does the inner mucosa, so you will have the  pinkish color.  I had mine with Dr. Meltzer an i am 6 months out 6-1/4" while she said she is 8", but may shrink to about 7".  So great depth and very senate, not only on the clitoral area, but she says everywhere. Wish i kinda would a went with him, as  i am still having to take at least 20mins to get the #3 dilator all the way to the 6" mark and is sore.

hey val would you care to elaborate on the scars? how many cuts are there and are they at the front or back of the vagina?

I have no idea how many cuts there are, but the only major ones are on the side where the thigh meets the pubic area.  they go from the vaginal opening.  There are incisions on the labia minora, but on the inside, and they are not visible.  There is a small incision above the clitoris, but it's not really visible (like teeny tiny).  The scars are short.  On his website, some of them look really long, but mine are very short, and don't go any higher than maybe the base of my clitoris?  It's hard to say.  They don't look like they are going to be that visible anyway.  I feel like they will blend when it's all healed.

You already touched your lips? I was afraid to for the first 3 weeks, lol!  Brave territory you walk ;)

Do you hiss when you pee?

I didn't think it would hurt to touch them a little.  I didn't move them around or anything.  Just gently trying to see if I had sensation.

And yes, I hiss when I pee (sometimes, more so for the first week, no really anymore).

I am 3 weeks out today.  I haven't orgasmed, but I am definitely sensate.  I haven't tried to really masturbate, and when I dilate (which is laborious I might add - but easy) I just do it and get it over with.  I still have about 7 inches of depth.  Depends on the day, whether I'm doing static or dynamic dilation, bowel movements, etc.  I've had 6 3/4 inches to 7 1/4 inches.  Kinda depends really.  Really though, right at 7.

That's about all I can think of.  I need to be doing homework, lol.  Should have taken the quarter off (my school does trimesters instead of semesters, but have a summer quarter that is optional so everyone just calls them quarters instead of trimesters).

Can you still get that pink color if you have been circumcised?

I (was) a circumcised American lol.. and Dr Suporn told me that I wouldn't have the pinkish color since he didn't have that material to use.  And he wasn't lying, I do not have the pink on the inner labia.   And since I was circumcised, that the scar would show.  To be honest, I had never even noticed a scar from the circumcision when I had an outtie, the bastards did it about the same time they pronounced me male, so it was all quickly forgotten.

But yes, I can even see the circumcision scars on the labia.   It actually makes me think of what a horrid act that circumcision really is.  Mutilation, for sure, and I'm not even sure why they do it .... other then they (medical docs and parents) are sadists!!!!!

Do all genetically born women have pink down there (I've never been with a woman before, have just seen some pictures).  Are you satisfied with your surgery despite the doctor not being able to use foreskin?

Val, how's it going thus far?

I am also circumcised and I see the scars so I guess
those will be visible after my SRS as well.
To top it all off, I'm pretty small if you know what I mean.
Don't know if size matters? Does depth depend on size?

I hope Suporn can work magic with me.
