I've pointed out bad media coverage that I -- and Anna Wipfler of the glaadBLOG -- has pointed out regarding Amanda Simpson's appointment as a Senior Technical Advisor at the Department Of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). I've also pointed out antitrans, antigay, and anti-LGBT sentiments in comment threads of mainstream -- and a little out of the mainstream -- news articles and commentary.

So, how do we address it when the antitrans sentiment comes intra lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (intra-LGBT) community?

There are a lot of HORRIFIC comments on various sites that turns my stomach. I can't believe some of the hate out there. It hurts worse though when some of these comments come from people in our own community (GLBT).

I agree completely, Dana Lane. People disgust me, sometimes. I do consider myself part of the greater LGBTQIS community. I love my gay and lesbian friends. I love the gay and lesbian community.
