My problem is I kinda want to start Progesterone (prometrium) but my endo is not into it, he doesn't mind someone else prescribing it but that's another story anyway he said that there is a progesterone already in androcur but my question is ... is it enough to have a good enough effect. I said to him it's such a small amount that the liver would collect most of it. His response was mostly nothing.
I'm 99% sure my GP will be more 'friendly' but I just want to cover my ass with info first. I'm also pretty sure that androcur and Prometrium together would work well.. hhmmm... anyone else run into this issue?
Androcur only contains cyproterone acetate and is not a mixture.
Cypro itself acts weakly like a progestagen, that is, like progesterone would.
Doctors are very divided on the utility of prescribing progesterone, usually in the form of medroxyprogesterone.
I'm on Androcur with cyclogest and microgest. They work just fine for me
Thanks peeps! ^_^ that's pretty much what I wanted to know. To not go in saying I want to be on both and my doctor saying "no you can't do that". and me not having nothing other than a "but ..but...". :P
Phanks!!!
