Those leading the Catholic Church have a double standard when it comes to sexuality.

Leaders for millennia excluded those who loved a same-sexed person (even excluding those wanting to raise children together) while at the same time tolerating many homosexual priests and nuns. It allowed many of them to sexually exploit even their youngest parishioners, with no punishment or exclusion from Communion until the Catholic Church was finally sued in secular courts.

Now, Bishop Richard Pates of Des Moines has fired a transgendered person, housekeeper Susan McIntyre, in the presence of Pates' attorney Frank Harty. McIntyre had suicidal thoughts before her life-saving sex change. Pates claims that the firing had nothing to do with McIntyre being transgendered, but he refused to settle the situation by having McIntyre make a minor change to her nonsexual behavior.
