Title: The times you've got to tell it all..
Post by: Valentina on January 17, 2010, 03:28:19 PM
Are there times you feel compelled to tell peeps about your past?

1. Relevant medical situation

2. Intimate partner

After 35 years I don't see any other situation where its relevant

Matilda, if they're talking the pee stick thing, couldn't you just take the preg test and test negative? End of story then.

Been tempted, with many people.

But no. Some of it is still very personal. Some still very sensitive and I'm sorry to say, a lot of it is just too depressing.

I have tried to tell some people what my parents did to me when I was a kid. But not being believed makes it hurt more than thinking about it.

Well I only tolded my fiancé a year ago, I was dating him for 18months before I tolded him, I felt a great sense of relief when I tolded him.
But its a very private personal matter, all situations are different. He hasnt tolded his family and doesn't want to, its not important, they just see me as his fiancée, his girl friend, the woman he wants to marry.
I guess Im 1 lucky girl.

Ah, ok, makes more sense. I thought you were just referring to a routine doc's visit.

Christian, I suppose that I could have accepted to take a urine pregnancy test if my visit to the doctor had been routine, but unfortunately it wasn't.  I had been taken to the emergency room; I was in pain, scared, bleeding and had a fever of 102° F.  It was the first time after my SRS that I had a problem of that nature, and I didn't want to subject myself to unnecessary blood tests knowing that they were going to turn out negative anyway.  I just wanted them to find out what was wrong with me.

Plus they charge you for all of that!  So the less needless tests you can take the better.

Doctors.

I don't date because I already have a fiance who's known me before I had GRS but if I were single & looking, I can't say for sure that I'd tell him.

really? not even your gynecologist? & if he can't tell the difference between a natal vagina & a non-natal one, maybe it's time to find a new ob gyn..tsk tsk tsk.

Motion:

The only times you've got to tell it all, is when one of the following conditions apply.

I never said my gynecologist! (don't have one). I said my local doctor and as she hasn't had to look down 'there' yet then there's no reason to explain anything.
If and when the time comes I need to tell my doctor (on health grounds) I will, but until then, no one is being told anything.

A gynecologist can always tell the difference on examination, I was dating my boyfriend for nearly 18months and he couldnd tell the difference, he was very pleased and satisfied with my vagina, I surposed I should be flattered.
Its nice sometimes, I don't like being reminded Im a non-natal female.
Im just female, Im just a woman.

Neither do I.  We have enough of the 'you will never be a real woman' tripe outside already.
