To be honest I wanted to like this movie, I liked the premise and it looked interesting in the trailer. But in the end it turns out to be little more then Terminator meets the Nativity story.
It isn't the actors, heck even the worse of them manage to breath some life into this hockey movie. They play it straight lace and do it so that you actually come to some sympathy for their characters. To bad they waste their scenes in ridiculous and predictable ways. Not sure why they call it 'Legion' at all, it should have been called Micheal. The fallen angel takes over most of the show, and the time he isn't on screen is less then a fourth of the time he is.
The plot? Well the premise is that God is pissed off and is ending the world, and Michael is here to protect the mother of the child that a group of possessed people are trying to kill. If that does sound hokey to you then save your money, it gets worse from there on in. The big revelation (no pun intended) Micheal gives halfway through makes absolutely no sense. Worse is that it is mentioned once, the cast argues, then everyone outspokenly agrees never to talk about it or question it again the entire movie. Which is to bad, considering it is a departure from the norm of good vs. evil in these kinds of movies and makes an interesting twist to the story. That is if anyone had bothered to try to explain it out at all.
But in the end the movie made so many comparisons to the original terminator movies that I half expected Michael at some point to reach to someone and say, "come with me if you want to live." It sets up for an obvious sequel which means next time i'm saving my money for the rental.
I left after 30 minutes. I could not take the concept of an angel cutting off his wings and getting all the guns to save the world with.
My son talked me into taking him to see it-horrid waste of money and time.
I saw the trailer and thought it would be cool. But yeah, I agree with all of you. The movie sucked, didn't make any sense, wasn't explained and there was only one memorable quote.
"I don't believe in god."
"That's okay, Bob, he doesn't believe in you either."
Pssh, that quote's old too, so it can't be attributed to the movie.
I don't need to see this one to know it's utter garbage.
I was really, really hoping it would fall into the so bad that it's good category but from what I have heard from everyone: nope, not even close.
I still will take the Prophecy as my angry angel movie of choice. I think that nothing could be as scary as an angel. God's warriors and messengers and all that.
Why, exactly, would any entity with the power to createand uncreate the universe need warriors? Is god lazy?

I thought the same. Guess he just wanted a show.
I was really hoping that the initial reviews for this movie were unwarranted but after seeing this discussion I think hope is finally lost. is it bad enough that you almost want to watch it just because it's so bad? cuz I wanna watch gramma crawl on ceilings!

Sometimes.... I just love you.

I think I'll watch it at some point just to see how bad it "really" is.. but I suspect it'll end up like when I tried to watch Gabriel...
I put it on... Got fed up in 30 minutes, fell asleep, woke up, asked hubby what I missed, and got the response "the same crap as you were watching as you fell asleep, only more crappy" making me feel that the best thing about the movie was that I missed most of it.
