Title: What is the cost?
Post by: azSam on February 03, 2010, 12:02:13 AM
I've been browsing online, and there are several electrolysis and LHR places in my area. But one thing I can't really find is the cost of treatments. I've considered going in for a consulation, but I'll wait just a little bit longer.

Can anyone here ballpark the cost of the treatments? Specifically to the face, and chest areas.

Most of the places I am looking at going to offer a $300 coupon, if that's any indication of the price, this will be extremely pricey.

I was looking into getting a Tria for my LHR. But I'm also not entirely sure of how well it works.

I have a Tria Beauty and it only gets dark hairs and is a VERY slow process. It is really painful and I found that inflicting that kind of pain on my own self was a bit intolerable.

In Philly we have Mazzoni Center which is a medical care facility for the LGBT community. I get my hormones there and primary treatment for pretty much anything. They also have a laser there which gets light hairs! I pay $250 a session and need a total of 5 sessions. The first session had amazing results, btw. Before I found out Mazzoni had a laser I got a quote from Penn for $1200 a session/7 sessions! ugh.

See if there is an LGBT care center in your area and if there is ask them if they have any recommendations.

Oh hey, Thanks for the information. I will certainly look up a GLBT care center around here.

here are the prices I was quoted for laser through American Laser Centers. note that I paid a higher price upfront and in return I get 1 year (some say 2) of maintenance for free (rather included in the higher cost). if I price 6 sessions at the average $300 per session I feel like I come out ahead.

$1800 face
$1500 neck
------- package total $3300
$2200 belly
$2500 chest*
------- package total $2200

they actually had a buy one get one free promo and I was able to negotiate the higher price for free for the chest is free of charge :)

I've had 12 sessions on my face and neck but I haven't started chest and tummy until later this month.

My laser was $99 per hour, prepay.  My Electrologist is $65 per hour, with a $185 three hour discount.

That's interesting, where did you go for that?

Both of them are local girls.  In fact my electrologist is post-op.

I'm surprised the prices for LHR is so high in your area.

The place I'm going to is $85 per session for the face including the upper neck portion. Chest should be around $100 per session. They have a machine that supports two wavelengths: 755-nm Alexandrite laser and the 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser.

At the consultation, they said I'd need 6-8 (30 min) sessions for a full clearing. The place also gives discounts like buy 2 sessions and get the 3rd free. Looking forward to paying around $500 for my 8 sessions.
