Mind out of the gutter, everybody.
Anyway, I want to put my Facebook sex as male. Unfortunately, I am still in the closet (still lack the balls to change it) and I have a question. If I set it to not show my sex, and not show the "wall" will my sex still show up?
I don't see where it really shows, other than your personal info, which could be viewed. And there is no place to not show it.
Like updates your friends get when you add pictures and such. Or do they? I'm a stranger to FB.
I recently did this and I specified that I didn't want my sex shown and my gf got a text notification saying "Would you like to respond to his status?" cause she facebook stalks me. And she told me, and I change my sex back cause my sister is my friend on FB and I'm not ready for that yet. So I think if you were to post on someone's status or wall it'll tell that person using male pronouns. Just my take on things.

So if I don't post on walls and make my wall private I have nothing to worry about?
Damn, why can't they just make a genderless option?

Cause people refuse to believe that a gray area exsists.
But I think if you make everything private only your friends will see it. Then you can make customizable settings about who can see what if you're up for that.
Meh, screw it, I think I'll just leave it female until I'm out. Too much hassle and I don't care too much about FB anyway.
That's what I said. LoL.
Just select the option "Select Sex:" and uncheck the "show my sex in my profile" box, if you want to go genderless....worked for me ;)
Updates about you will say "he" or "she" though. Don't want to unintentionally out myself.

Yeah, there is a genderless option:

Updates will say: "SilverFang changed their Music" or whatever you updated.
I used to have it where it didn't desplay my sex however I have since then changed it to male after coming out at work..

When I had it not showing, it pretty much worked. The only thing that might give anything away is pronoun usage. Like if you post from an app, it might say something like, "So & so made too much roast chicken in cafe world, & would like to share with his friends."
I know they just changed a bunch of things on there though, so I'm not sure. I spend a lot more time playing WoW than surfing FB. Social networking just doesn't do that much for me. If someone really wants to talk to me, I have a shiny red cell phone.
no one notices if you flip your sex on FB....
i tried that on my old account, and i swear, NO one noticed, or commented.
I don't even have a sex on there
This thread sounded a lot more promising then it turned out to be.

Same for me.
i wouldn't want sex with facebook
I just made a separate Facebook for myself and only added/accepted friends who I have have already come out to. My main account also has pictures of me in female clothing, even though i'm still set to "male". No one seems to mind. lol.
