I have electro every week,
It find it funny how my hand goes kind of numb holding the metal rod, anyone else get this? It does not last long, as soon as I leave the room I dont notice it anymore.
I thought it was because I was gripping it too hard but aparantly not, I tried conciously relaxing last time and it made no difference, hand still went numb. It is more to do with the current that is going through you (that is what the beautician said anyway).
makes me wonder what it is doing to my insides. yikes.
Only gone twice myself but I haven't noticed that.
The path that the current takes is from the probe, down the side that is holding the rod, and out the rod. It is a mild current and wouldn't hurt you.
There is a device called a TENS unit that uses a 9 volt battery to numb pain. It is harmless and does the same thing. The current scrambles the nerve endings so that nothing is felt, thus the numb feeling.
When I had my Orchie, they put a plate under my right butt check for the cauterizer. When they use it my cheek went numb too. But it would go away after the unit wasn't being used.
I did not think it would be dangerous (though if you have a pacemaker you can't get electrolysis),
but in my imagination I see fingers of hot blue electricity flowing through my body, questing for the other end, concentrating and leaping out the end of the needle.... :o

omg is't so funny you should say that because I have envisioned the same thing. Something to do with when that hot current starts flowing straight into a nerve lol
I haven't noticed numbness directly but I do get itchy palms for about a day afterwards. My hand does get a bit numb from just laying there in the same position for a long time, but if I move my arms it goes away.
You are probably not to far from the truth. Well may be not "hot blue electricity", but small electrons jumping from cell to cell looking for the wires in your arm, called nerves. Tomorrow I go for consult with an electrologist. Thanks for the image, Nicky.
oops, sorry :embarrassed:
I assure you the electricity is totally friendly and will lovingly remove the hair for you, it positively purrs down your veins :D
That's Ok, Nicky. I can get back at you. >:-)
Think of Santa. Do you see him?
Now see him from behind. OK?
Now see Santa in a thong. ??? :o :icon_yikes:
Told you I would get back at you. :icon_hug:
You evil woman,
Now all I can think of is the time my mum dressed as santa :icon_yikes:
That takes me back to when was I was a teenager again, got up early one morning and saw mum from behind crouched down in the kitchen cleaning somthing off the floor wearing a very short nighty with nothing on underneith
I feel so dirty, must get clean..
:'(
HeHeHe >:-)
