This week I made a lot of exciting progress in my transition. I came out to two of my best friends, who haven't changed their opinion of me based on the information I present them, and I also found my true female voice. I got so giddy when I finally recorded a sentence that sounded 100% feminine... and I have been able keep to it (though it does pop back into a male tone or a falsetto from time to time.) Oh! And I also booked a consultation at a local laser clinic, and hope to start hair removal therapy in March. I know it will be a big dent in my wallet, but it will be worth it.
Yay Rachel! :eusa_dance:
I'm jealous of the voice. I do pretty well but today I got a "yes sir" on the phone. When I said I was Katherine he said I didn't sound like a Katherine. :D
How wonderful your friends are accepting. Gather your supporters where you can find them - you'll need them as you go forward. And it sounds like you are definitely moving forward. Congratulations!

Congrats! Keep that attitude and your journey will be much smoother. Good Luck!

Thats because you are a
Kate!
That's fantastic, Rachel! What are you using to find your voice?
I have been using a combination of Deep Stealth's "Finding your Female Voice" program, and some other video tutorials that I found on Youtube. I was trying to use some text based tutorials, but I found that having the visualization and audio helped a lot more in developing my voice.
I used the same program and you do have to stay at it. You will get to the point that you can feel when it is right and then it becomes natural. I stopped worrying about my voice and just let it happen. If it does great, if not Oh Well.
And you are making headway. One step at a time.
Most excelent.
Right on Rachel!!! ;D
