Title: Male Modeling.
Post by: BlackRabbit on March 01, 2010, 04:43:34 PM
Have any of you ever considered male modeling?
I have.
I want to so badly but first I need T surgery.
Can makeup hide the scars?
How do you hide the rest of the curves?
I'm trying to lose weight to maybe around 100 lbs.
Since I'm going for a 14 year old boy look.
How do you get slender and toned?

Being a photographer I use myself as a model for some pics depending on what I'm going for. I haven't had top surgery so I play a lot with angles to hide certain things and accentuate others. But being both the photographer and the model gives me a lot of freedom to play around with that kinda stuff.

Honestly I don't get the interest in looking like some prepubescent boy that seems to have caught on recently. 100lbs is a lot of weight to drop. Be sure that you work within your body's limits, don't push yourself to meet an unobtainable image. Nothing looks better than someone who is healthy, comfortable and confident.

No ones questioning you on here for being who you want to be, you should do the same.
I want to look like a young boy, period.

But it's cool that you're a photographer.

Hey I'm just saying I don't personally get it but if that's what you wanna do go for it. Just please be careful. I know there are some people who can get an image of what they want in their head and go after it even if their bodies resist and end up slowly killing themselves. The same goes for huge muscle dudes who pump themselves full of steroids and stuff. When you lose sight of your body's limits you can find yourself in a grave.

Apologies if I offended you.

No you didn't offend me at all, I'm just so fed up with people so..I don't know. It's just I heard it all before. I get it,it's unhealthy.
But it's what I want.
Uggg I want T surgery so badly but it costs like 6000 dollars.
Are you saving up for it?
I wish I could.

Life (as well as transition) is one big compromise dude. There are things I want, I wish I was taller, I wish I could have an average sized functioning penis without having to undergo invasive surgeries, I wish I could run without nearly dying from asthma and early arthritis. It's frustrating knowing that my body can't and most likely never will be able to do those things. But as the saying goes, when life gies you lemons make lemonade. :P

As far as surgery goes I was laid off last year so I can't save up for transition until I get a new job.

I'm not tall enough for any type of modeling haha, I'm only 5'5.  But I totally understand wanting to.  I love being in pictures now that I'm comfortable with myself and did a photoshoot for my friend's art project who was doing something on the word "confuse".

T and working out will help get rid of the curves.  Scar treatment, time, and developing your pec muscles can help hide/face the scars pretty well, and I'm sure that there is make up that can completely temporarily cover the scars for pictures.  If you want it bad enough you can make it happen

@Osiris I hate lemonade. lol

@Chamillion
How long have you had T surgery done?
And would being pale make the scars more noticeable?

I do, I do want it bad enough, I'll do anything.

I had top surgery 2 months ago.  The pic in my avatar is me at 5 weeks post op.  I'm not sure if being pale makes the scars more noticeable, that makes sense though so maybe

Nothing wrong with that. The fourteen-year old boy look can really work on some people. Personally, I'd love to be able to pull that off too. If you like it, do it and rock it!

Well, personally I scar pretty easily and I've got about twenty significant ones from various injuries and/or cats. So I can say that at least for me, the paler I am, the LESS noticeable my scars are. Not more. They stand out the most on my skin in summer when I get more tanned because they stay white. So I think if you're pale, you shouldn't have any troubles.

If I ever get good lookin' enough, I'd love to model...
But so far, the only "modeling" I've done has heavily involved rope.

I'm not tall enough to do real male modeling but once i get top surgery I wouldn't mind doing photos or anything like that but with one difference. I don't want to do anything to hide my scars. Yes I'll treat them to help them heal and fade and i do plan on having developed pecs for them to hide under but that won't be my main concern. They will be battle scars why not show them off?

Well, I think it depends on the age of the scar. New scars, when they're still angry pink/red, will stand out most on pale skin because the scars are pretty much the same colour regardless of your skin tone.

Older scars that have faded will stand out least on skin closest to its "base" colour (i.e. getting a tan will make scars stand out more regardless of your base skin tone because the scar won't tan, but I don't think naturally dark-skinned people have more visible scars, because theirs don't turn white like scars on pale people do).

I think you can aspire to be what you want to be in life.  But realize, too, that life also has a way of bringing reality right back at ya.

So aspire to be a small, skinny, boy model.  But if you have a large frame, or are seriously overweight, or have very feminine characteristics, realize that even a good diet, working out, and T may not give you the body you desire.

As someone else on here said, he'd hoped that T would make him tall, outgoing, and hung like a stallion.  Instead he's still short, shy, and hung like a housecat.  (which describes me also!).
