A transsexual claims his human rights have been breached because the law will not recognise him as a woman unless he divorces his wife.
Christopher Timbrell, who has changed his name to Christine, has launched a High Court fight because his marital status bars him from claiming a pension from the age of 60 like other women.
Instead Mr Timbrell, now 68, has only been entitled to claim a pension from the age of 65, like men.
Wrong pronouns, calling her "Mr." and the general mishandling of the report really gets me. Let alone the whole thing about having to divorce.
I hope she wins and gets the back-pay from her pension.
I kind of agree with the comment about how if they are still together how can C Timbrell claim to not be lesbian while still insisting on being a woman. I guess choose one or the other or something else. Anyway, ye if recognized legally as woman then the pension should go the same.

Christine Timbrell, formerly known as Christopher, undertook a full sex change in 2000 however she is still not recognised in law as a woman – unlike most transsexuals – because she refuses to divorce her wife.
She is now 68, but wants her pension backdated to the age of 60, the age women are entitled to claim their payout. This is five years earlier than if she had stayed a man.
