I will be known as Dana Lane Taylor at work! My VP is making the announcement and I can't wait! They are working on a new name plate for my door. I already changed my company ID card. About to start working on my legal name change.
And the journey continues!
I think you mean Monday, March 8th...? Congratulations on this next big step forward!

Why on earth did I write January? I have no idea whatsoever! I changed it thanks and hugs!
Another milestone passed. Yay, Dana.
And the next one will be even easier.

My two biggest fears of transition were (in this order)
1) Tell my twin brother he has a twin sister
2) Begin living as a woman full time
Telling my brother was terrifying to me but it ended up great. So it was unfounded fear. In fact,l just last night he told me he was concerned that I might not be pretty enough to attract a lot of guys and I told him he doesn't need to worry about that part! :) He was just concerned about me being lonely.
Anyways, I don't have any fears at this time for the rest of the journey. It is only technical stuff. :)
Yay Dana! How wonderful for you. :eusa_dance:
There always seems to be something else, but with each step we get stronger. Go girl!

Congrats Dana! I hope things go very well for you. It has to be one of those terrifying yet thrilling moments. Good luck making it until Monday with all the nerves. ;)
Once you've done it, I'd love to hear about how things go at your company. I'm trying to plan how to do the same thing at mine (though not for a few months yet).
Congratulations
Wonderful to hear that it went so well for you.
ugh. announcement is going out around 10AM EST and I need to use the bathroom! I am NOT using the mens room! I can hold it! I know I can.... fingernails crossed
congrats
I made it through week one and it was great! The announcement had went out to a LOT of people which included our division of 300 people then various department heads throughout campus. I received a lot of heartwarming messages of support from people. Someone bought me flowers which was awesome!
The only problem I encountered was trying to get them to change my gender flag in my records. They had said I needed to show proof of fully transitioning before they could do that. Philadelphia law states they can't ask me to show proof of that for anything other than official records such as tax records. So, I contacted a director at our LGBT center and she took care of that! :) The main HR person called me and gave me contact information for someone in affirmative action and I meet with them on Monday to fill out a form and then take that form to HR where they will then change my gender flag.
I also went to the dentist on campus this week and my doctor's assistant asked me if I wanted to change my name in my dental records and of course I said yes. She changed that and then as I went through the billing office there another lady asked me if I wanted to change my gender marker! She changed that and told me how good I looked and that was that! Didn't even ask them to change anything. They are fabulous there!
The LGBT center is going to be meeting with the HR folks soon to develop specific protocols to deal with transitions at Penn. Even though things were a bit bumpy with mine at least it will end up helping others who transition here.
So I would say the week was a huge success!
Honey I'm so happy for you.
Great news. I hope everything goes well. LMAO for your twins comment. He'll need a stick to keep his sister's boyfriends away
Hugs

You are a regular trailblazer, Dana. ;D But someone behind you will be grateful.
