I suppose I will be dropping the "transsexual" title one of these days. Yes, I am proud of my "trans" heritage, and the word "transsexual" is a hook for this blog -- it's what initially draws people to read it (or not to read it). Still, in all the ID document changes I've received recently, it's "Female" -- there is no asterisk attached saying that I was once considered to be "Male" or that I am "a transsexual." When I and others like me decide to transition, we want to be the opposite gender, not something in-between. Again, though, I want to emphasize that I do love transgender people -- the in-betweeners -- and want to do what I can to help them be accepted. Because everyone should have the right to freedom of presentation and gender expression. Period! (Ok, exclamation mark.)
I know this all sounds a bit contradictory. It can be confusing for me sometimes. But going into "stealth mode" is looking better and better.
