Title: Helen's Introduction
Post by: HelenC on March 10, 2010, 02:47:52 PM

I am new to being open about myself.  I am a senior citizen who has been a transgendered individual most all of my life.  My first memory of feeling like I wished I had been a girl was age four.  It never subsided and I have been mostly a closet queen.  When I lived in Southern California, North Hollywood, I had occassion to go out cross dressed and belonged to a couple of support groups.  That was years ago, maybe 25 or 20 years ago.  Married once had three sons and now a grand daughter.  Recently divorced, I find that this new freedom has brought me out of hiding.  Well, sort of being out.  So, what I am really doing here is introducing myself and learning as much as I can about gender dysphoria and other sequele.  Sorry to be so wordy.  HelenC

Welcome to Susan's.  :icon_flower:

There's a lot of good information and good people here.  Each of our stories is unique but we have a lot in common.  Settle in, pull up a keyboard, and explore.

Be sure to look under the Announcements heading.  There you will find the rules we live by in this little world of ours: "Site Terms of Service and Rules to Live By", "Standard Terms and Definitions", and "Post Ranks".  Look through the other stuff there, too.

I can identify with a lot of that.  I started transition at 65.  I've never been happier and finally, after all these years, feel that I've found myself.  Good luck in your explorations to find the real you, Helen.

Happy exploring. :icon_wave:
