Title: Body Hair!
Post by: DRAIN on March 18, 2010, 10:37:29 PM
mine is really light. in fact, yesterday my mom asked if i had shaved my legs - I haven't shaved them in nearly three years . so my question is, does body hair darken as well as fill in on T, or will it still be the same color?

What color is your facial/pubic hair? That's probably how the rest will end up if it doesn't have a definitive color because it's so light/thin.

Or, alternately look at your father.

I was very fair growing up - my head hair has darkened some but my body hair has always been very light. As in barely there at all!! I'm 4 months on T and my leg hair started to darken almost straight away and its creeping up my thighs where it is still light in some places but very long compared to before and darkening also.

I have dark hair all over my stomach and up towards my chest which started out the same - light then longer and thicker and now darkened. My arm hair is very slow to lengthen and thicken up and is still barely noticeable but its getting there!

My facial hair is still majorly light but quite dark and thick in the moustache area. So from someone like yourself with previously very light barely noticeable body hair - for me anyways yeah it darkens. YMMV...

I've been on T for almost 3 months now and it has definitely darkened. My hair was alright very light and pretty much invisible on every part of my body. My leg hair and arm hair has darkened considerably.

my two closest male relative (dad and half brother) both have lightly colored body hair and very little of it, so i'm not holding much hope that i'll be very furry...which is ok  i'd be fine with avoiding back hair.

Looking at male relatives doesn't always help. I have yet to start T, but already have hairier legs than both my dad and my brother ^_^ Maybe that I got more of the Jewish genes than bro? If that's anything to do with it..?

my tummy hair has been barely noticeable, but now on T, it's dark and I'm developing a good "happy trail" yay.

Hair that thickens generally gets darker too unless you're really blonde.

I'm just approaching a month on T and I'm finding new hair coming through all the time. Hairs that were blonde/clear before are now starting to come through darker.
It doesn't look like there's more hair on my lower legs, but they do look hairier somehow, so I think the hair is darkening and thickening.

So... if you already have pretty dark/thick body hair is that indicative that you'll be a very hairy gorrila-guy once you go on T?!  :o

Heh. See i'm the exact opposite - back when i shaved i would have to do so almost daily because my hair was so dark. Now that i don't shave (haven't in over five months) i have some nice, hairy legs. Also have some fuzz on my stomach that would have needed to be shaved if i ever wore something to show it off (which i never did.)

Wonder how it'll look once i start T....

Being in the same position, I'm also wondering that. Except I only shaved when I had to, 'cause I couldn't stand it - took ages! Maybe we just have a head start and will only get (coarser) chest hair? *crosses fingers*

... Yes, coarser - I've just noticed, I already have pretty dark chest hair *and* a happy trail of sorts! :o

I would say yes to this. I was fairly hairy pre T and the hair was dark. Now I'm becoming gorrilla-esque and I'm only about 2 months on T. Stomach is ridiculously hairy now and I have a lot of chest hair coming in, which would be great if I'd had top surgery already, but I haven't  :(

Heh, I sure hope so! I like my body hair, and would welcome more. Nice to know the wait shouldn't be too long.

My endo asked me on the first consult - "Do you suffer from excess body hair?". I pulled up my pant leg and said "No, I enjoy every minute of it!" 8).

I was pretty hairy pre-T and liked it well enough, but since being on T for some reason I'm in the mindset of "WANT MORE HAIR!!! I AM TEH WOOKIE KING!!!".
