Constance McMillen's High School Also Suspended a Transgender Student. Just 'Cause

Oh you've got to be kidding: Itawamba Agricultural High School, which wouldn't let Constance McMillen bring her girlfriend to the prom, has a history of anti-LGBT policies. Evidenced when, this year, it suspended Juin Baize, who came to school for one whole day before being kicked out for wearing women's clothing.

Even Constance remember Baize's short-lived stay.

When are we going to be able on a Federal basis to manage these backward, phobic school districts? There needs to be a national right to school legislation that includes a non-bullying policy.

It's also sad to see a few gays or lesbians not support the inclusion of T people in our umbrella. Don't they realize that they, too, suffer prejudice because they don't fit societal gender norms of appearance and behavior?

We all need to stick together as a community!

That's true. And it's happening more often now that LGBT folks have become more visible.
