Title: Seeing my first doctor on Monday
Post by: harlee on March 26, 2010, 04:42:48 PM
Im excited cause I will finally be getting somewhere in my transition! ;D But Im also nervous  :-X cause I dont know what to say. My mum has basically made an appointment for me so I can talk to the doctor about who I am and the way I feel, so that he can refer me to someone else -probably a counsellor or something. :P

I feel awkward talking to my mum about this stuff, :-\ so I kinda dont want her to be in with the doctor and me...although, good luck telling her that, she seems to be so nosy about everything I do. >:( Im kinda scared, what if I say the wrong thing and I dont get any further than that! :'(

If you are underage you really don't have much of a choice if you want to get trans services.
If you are an adult tell her to stay out of the room when you talk to the doctor.
Good luck.

It was nerve-wracking for me too; partly 'cause of thinking how to explain myself, partly because it was still new to me. So I can relate - it feels good to be finally getting somewhere though, huh? Makes it more of a reality, too.

Hope it goes well :)
