Title: Bad Hair Day Much?
Post by: Walter on March 26, 2010, 05:23:51 PM
This is a really small rant, but yeah..I'm sure someone will get a laugh out of this

I've been dying my hair black for about a year now. And throughout this past year every time I dye my hair I never get it completely covered. There's always some light brown mixed in it somewhere (my natural color)

So a week or two ago I got the urge to go for a different color. I thought "I want my hair to look red, but not bronze red. I want it like..Reno red (from FF7 Advent Children)"

Well....that was an instant failure. It appears that it's not as easy as they say to change hair color if you're going for a lighter shade. No one told me the previous hair color had to be taken out first. So my roots are bronze red (wrong red color in the end anyway), and the rest is black and brown with some red streaks going through it. The roots took I guess because they hadn't had any dye in them. I completely screwed up there. My hair is a mixture of three different colors. It's a disaster

The ultimate bad hair day

So is that where I messed up? I had to bleach it or wait for the new hair to come in and then try a new shade er...?

That actually sounds like a pretty cool color combo

I dyed my hair different colors for a year or so in younger days and ended up with a rather cool multi color mohawk after shaving the sides

Unfortunately, I pissed off my girlfriend at the time and she cut most of it off while I was asleep  :P

Multi colors can look cool if they're done right

Usually when they're done on purpose they come out looking cool. Mine was by accident, and it looks horrible

I might just take pictures just to show it xD

Bleach works well on "virgin" hair. Bleaching permanent dye (especially black) is really hard though. It will probably never really come out lighter than orange. You'd damage it too much. So your best bet is to let it grow out (sorry.)

I know too much about hair from my multicolored hair days. I still have the leftover dye.

I used to change my hair color for liturgical seasons. My natural color is dark brown, almost black.

Yes, it is necessary to bleach out the preceding color before applying the new one. It would be an all-day process for me.

I didn't know it was required. Every product pretty much said "Well if you're changing shades, you might wanna have two boxes". Nothing about bleaching first. But I'm glad I only had one box

Useless post here, but hey.

One of my best friends is named Ramon. That makes it weird for me.

Really?

This is one of the names I never really tried out. Like every other name I've had, I doubt it'll stick, but eh...it's worth a shot

As a username or as a real name? I thought you officially changed yours?

As a real name. I did legally change it, but I had considered the thought that if I was ever going to transition, I wouldn't have picked Zant. I would've picked an actual Male name. Now that I'm considering that someday I might transition, I might try using actual Male names in case the day ever comes I'm able to further it

Ah, I see what you mean then.

I was just in a hurry to get rid of my birth name. Maybe I was too hasty, since I'm probably going to have problems if I ever get my name changed again, but...eh...Even if I never get my name changed again, I can live with Zant. It's still an epic name

Yeah it is. Even if you wanted another name, you don't have to necessarily change it either.
