Post by: wannalivethetruth on March 31, 2010, 04:39:28 PM
Well i've been going to therapy for 8 months now and i talked to my therapist about starting hormones. Im still in school, but im looking for a homeschooling at this time. My therapist asked what should she do inorder to get me started on hormones? We have talked about this, she doesn't normally specializes in GID, but she is willing to write out a letter. What should i tell her to write and do?

usually the letter to the healthcare provider simply states the client history and diagnoses along with a statement to the effect of that the mental health practitioner feels that that client is suited to hormone therapy and that cross gender identity is not the result of an axis II disorder of mental health. (if i had a copy of mine I would have sent a copy your way)

My letter stated the length of time I was in therapy and that in my therapist opinion, I should begin HRT.  Your therapist might wish to consult the SOC for guidance, even though it should be up to the therapist and the patient. MPO.
