A transgender woman found dead in her Queens apartment was strangled, and detectives suspect she was killed by a man she had been dating.

The 29-year-old victim, Amanda Gonzalez-Andujar, likely was killed late Saturday or early Sunday, police sources said.

A neighbor reported hearing a loud fight at the time, but when officers arrived, there was no answer at the door.

I have never heard that this kind of atrocity in relation to sexual orientation or gender identity ever occurred here in my country. Unfortunately, most recent victims of horrendous murder here were all women, especially physically defenseless little girls. Nobody dares to blame victims in any circumstance, but privately some people also blame the victims or their parents for their negligence, which I think is illogical and wrong.

Read this story the other day. Blaming the victim is used whenever a transgender person is involved. There's always the assumption that transsexuals are sex workers. A very poor asumption in my mind. Amanda was a human being and didn't deserve this.
