MANHATTAN — Amanda Lepore, the transgendered performance artist and fixture of Manhattan's nightclub and fashion scenes, was not chosen this week to sit on a jury.
DNAinfo snapped a photo of Lepore on Monday outside the 111 Centre St. courthouse. After two days of showing up for jury duty she was dismissed.
Two days is the normal term of service for a potential juror who is not picked to serve on a case.
if she showed up in that outfit i could possibly see why. i didn't read the article, but i hope she didn't.
The article says that was a pic of her leaving the courthouse. Ha. I think she just wanted to get out of jury duty. Getting out of jury duty is probably one advantage to living in a transphobic society :)
this is why people think we are ALL freaks, when people do this kind of crap when there is a much more subtle way to get out of jury duty. i think my new job actually pays you to do jury duty or gives you paid time off or something haven't been there long enough to find out yet. but i do love my new job.
Her job is promoting herself, and it seems to be working.
