Title: Two years on HRT
Post by: Nigella on April 06, 2010, 02:45:55 AM
Hi all,

I've just realised this morning that I have been on HRT for two years. WOW how things have changed. Some things are related to HRT some things are not so I have put in brackets the HRT influence.

Thought people might like to know my experience, some items are a little graphic but true so thought I shouldn't exclude them as its important to know what might happen.

1. Skin so much softer (HRT).
2. Fat redistribution from mostly stomach area to breasts, thighs and bum in particular and a little to the face (HRT).
3. Calmer but that may just be down to being who I really am without hiding anyway (HRT).
4. T down to 0.5 and oestrogen in mid range for female (HRT).
5. Hight reduction, measured now at doctors for their record from 5ft 6inches to 5ft 4inches(Possible HRT).
6. Feet size reduction from UK size 8 to 7 (Possibly HRT).
7. Hair softer and even more curly (HRT).
8. Body hair 95% gone (HRT).
9. Facial hair finer and 80% reduced (But had several laser sessions so don't think its the HRT but added as is)
10. No seminal fluid (HRT).
11. No erections (HRT).
12. Atrophy of the testes (HRT).
13. Female orgasms (at least that seems so different and over the whole body, 100 times better though than male, lol) (HRT).
14. Muscle reduction (HRT).
15. Upper strength reduction (significant) (HRT).
16. Voice (but have made modification to this but was not that low and deep and did not break before) Tried to speak as I did before but could not. (Just added because it is a change).

I think that's about it.

Awesome Stardust. It's really kind of amazing when you go through and list the changes made once you've gone from one point to another. 8)

Yea Nicky, down the rabbit hole with Alice, lol. Its like being transformed. It takes time and only when you look back do you see the changes. People that have not seen me for a while notice the most for obvious reason.  There are still changes happening like breast growth, yea, those babies are still painful and growing, lol. Even there it is interesting to see. Even though I was 38inchs around the chest area I am still 38inches, but I have lost 4inches under the bust. So instead of measuring 38 and 36 I measure 38 and 32 so that now makes me a 36c. I was a 36b cup just a few months ago. It must be the muscle atrophy and fat redistribution in the upper body that is shaping me in a different way.

Congratulations to you to Janet, time does indeed fly.

From your pic it looks like you got a decent rack out of the mones (sorry for my common tongue ;)), I had assumed you had some augmentation.

I agree, I've been told by some that they can see changes that I can't see, I only really see them when I compare photos of myself. Though the breasts are growing fast enough for me to notice. After the lumps underneith turned up they really started to be breasts and not moobs.

I'm mortified, lol. No augmentation thanks goodness, all natural growth with HRT thanks to my mum, she's DD's and my daughter is a D so it runs in the family, good genetics help for some.

yea, OMG when my buds came in I could hit the roof if I knocked them, just like at this moment as well but not hard any more just really painful and I can see changes from week to week. Its womanhood though so you have to go through the initiation process, lol.

Wow! you've only been on HRT for two years! I've been on HRT for about twelve years now and still can't get any kind of decent breast development! yours are absolutely amazing!

I will check list your list but I know things haven't worked as well for me as they have done for you:

1. A bit softer in places, but not so much on the face.
2. No fat re-distribution
3. Calmer possibly
4. Down to 0.3 and oestrogen mid range for female (HRT)
5. No Height reduction
6. No feet reduction
7. Hair finer and more brittle since HRT
8. No body hair whatsoever (but had very little anyway)
9. Facial hair much finer and only a few laser sessions.
10. Never had any seminal fluid (was never able to produce sperm pre-HRT)
11. I still get unwanted errections
12. Don't know what Atrophy means?
13. Female orgasms? seems more like a male orgasm only more intense
14. Very little Muscle reduction
15. Very little upper body reduction
16. Voice? not ever a problem as it didn't really break and has been lucky for me in this situation.

Wow! congrats!

I also wondered if they were real looking at your photo :P

I know doses aren't allowed, but can you share which hormones are you taking? (androcur, estrofem, spiro?) any progesterone? and is it under the tongue or pill swallow?

There was a thread not long ago about taking it under the tongue or swallowing as a pill and how it might benefit (either way).

Have you had bottom surgery or an orchy? some say it might be what helps.

I was surprised reading this, I thought you are one of the old timers!!! impressive.

Hi Naturally Blonde, I know you have spoken before on other posts about the affects of HRT on yourself. Everyone is different as you know.

Hi Myself, I Guess I have just been lucky but also had a head start as I was androgen looking from the start.

I'm on estrodial Valaret, progesterone (swallowed) and a three monthly injection of decapeptide (hope that does not violate the rules).

I don't know how to take the "old timer" bit, lol. Started my transition about 3 years ago took a year to decide to go on HRT, only because I got my wires crossed and thought you had to wait a year before asking to go on it, dumb moment. Learnt a lot since then, lol.

SRS this year

Hope that helps

Body hair 95% gone (HRT)
Does this include arm & leg hair? I ask because I'm beginning to think HRT will be in my future, and I'm currently pretty hairy.

Hi, body hair yes, I was pretty hairy too but it takes at least 18 months, leg hair is just reduced and finer. I did epilate and they say that helps because the hair follicle after the root has been pulled out  is filled with oestrogen instead of T so it becomes like female hair should be. It does not affect facial hair very much if at all.

Hope that helps

Just to add to that.

I've noticed my arm hair has started to get finer. My leg hair has changed heaps - it seems much finer and sparser and slower to grow. I get much better shaving results now and they last longer. Definilty looks like pretty standard female hair on my legs now.

Chest hair has reduced a bit too.

After 2 years myself, most of the body hair has become sparser and less course.  All except my arms which still have dark hairs.  Even the hair on my back has faded.

Was does that mean? you looked androgenous? I looked very androgenous for years before HRT. I've never had body hair or matured physically in the same way men do, so I am surprised how little effect HRT had on me. I really thought it would really kick in and the disappointment I've had in the last 12 years is overwelming.

I would like to share my hair changes. I have been on HRT for close to a year. I epilate arms and legs and my hair is now so fine I can't tell I have hair growing unless I hold my arms or legs against light and see the hair in the silhouette. I probably don't even have to epilate anymore because you can't really see it unless you look really close.

I think we can establish that HRT works in helping to eradicate body hair but I'm wondering how many people have actually benefitted from actual physical effects, such as fat - redistribution and apart from Stardust, any reasonable breast development?

I am noticing fat redistribution. My hips and buttocks are filling out more. My waist is changing a bit as well. As far as breast development goes I am full steam ahead right now. My doctor just added progesterone to my treatment and it seems to be making a difference. The first half of my HRT was self medicated and I was using very low amounts of estrogen. Since my doctor got my hormone levels corrected things have been going pretty good.

I only have myself to go on as I can't see any picture's of anyone else's development? but my development and far re -distribution is zero despite being on HRT for 12 years. I haven't noticed my butt changing and I haven't noticed any hip development either? all I've noticed is the fat round my belly get larger and larger and the effects of HRT are having the opposite effect to what I want to achieve.

I have got a little breast development but it's swamped by belly fat. I'm not a fat person at all and my legs are very thin with no fat on them. You can even see the ridge of the bone on my lower part of my legs. Before HRT I had a much better figure and shape with no belly fat. I have never been so depressed as I am these days and for me HRT is just a placebo!

I've also seen various endocrinologists over the years (including one at Charing Cross and another at University College Hospital, London) and they say nothing more can be done. So I felt quite desperate and depressed right now.

If the mountain won't come to Mohamad, Mohamad will go to the mountain. (well, yeah I flipped that)

If after 12 years you don't get what you want, make it happen. body contouring, they take fat from the body and move it elsewhere.

Fat redistribution is subtle but...I lost mine. butt I mean. I'm not complaining. I did gain a "beer gut" tho. I'm not really happy about that part. T lost my leg hair tho. That was most unexpected.

I did do a lot of research into fat transfer and it rarely works to any satisfactory degree. There are also butt implants and hip implants (a bit like breast implants) which is also a bad idea.

I seen results of both transfer and implants, it depends on the doctor but it can be really good. Don't be negative in EVERY way.

I am so sorry you are not having good results with HRT. Have you tried contacting some of the best and brightest trans-care doctors? It seems to me it would be worth contacting someone who may have more experience. They may have had patients who had a hard time as you are and maybe have found a solution for them.

I didn't think I was negative but I can't lie about things. I have made positive comments many times in this forum regarding how feminine my voice is.

But I don't think fat transfer implants is the answer for me!

Where are these brightest trans-care doctors located you mention? I imagine they are in America? because there are none I've heard of here in the U.K!
