im gonna buy a binder but do they actually work or roll up? my chest isnt to big but my muffin top is rather rolly. i got an athletic shirt but it didnt work and it rolled up. how do u find right size does ur hip size matter.
The key is to tuck them in to your pants, which should fit snugly around your hips. I have a muffin top too but I don't have any trouble except with the stiffer binders (like the underworks 997) that like to slide up and form a stiff crease on my back and sides at my waistline. But they don't exactly roll very much, just slide a bit.
Your hip size doesn't matter unless your hips are really enormously larger than your chest. For reference, mine are 40 inches, and they fit just fine in the size small and extra-small binders that I got based on chest size.
Apparently the T kingdom binder model 1700 is good because its like a vest so you can tuck it in, thats the one im looking into buying anyways.
My chest is 40 and my hips are well there 48 :'(
I wear an underworks tri-top and have no problems with rolling up. It's also far cooler than the full length binder in Summer.
I wear mine inside out and pull the bottom up over the binder so that it's "double".
No rolling up, and twice the compression to the chest.
I step into mine upside down so the shoulder straps are at the bottom and once i've pulled it onto me I just fold it up, this way it doesn't roll up.
Good question. You're already getting good feedback here, but you'll find lots more tips and info if you poke around some more. I think Osiris' thread (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,70854.0.html (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,70854.0.html)) is particularly good, but it's about binding generally, not the specific topic you asked about here.
The tri top only goes to the bottom of my rib cage barely, but I have a longer torso. It's also hard as hell to get into. But well worth it if you ask me.
