Well, I'm currently off work due to stress and depression :( and decided to drag my self out of the house because It's no fun sitting around on your own all day. I decided to wear this nice little green top I bough the other day. I did feel a bit self concious at first, but no one noticed! Didn't even get any funny looks hehe. I had some lunch at the little gallery cafe I'm exhibiting some art at next month and my friend who helps run it commented on how nice it looked. First time out in something that definitely wasn't boy mode and it felt great. hehe
Excellent! Glad you managed to leave the house and bonus, do it with flair.
that's so cool , and also a positive thing for the depression and all
kinda reminds me when i went out as a woman , and although i was wearing a semi-vale , it felt more than wonderful
good luck on your next step =)
It was definitely a good experience, and it helped as well, I've been having panic attacks (though these seem to be triggered by the thought of going to work) and while there were points where I felt nervy, I didn't go into full blown panic mode.
You just reminded me of my first venture out shopping when I was 18. I had been ill with a virus, and the meds from the doctor made me a little over confident..well that was it, I was out clothes and make-up shopping in girl-mode around the local area...I must have looked a sight because I very few girl clothes at the time, but I was also surprised at how little attention was paid to me..so some things don't change in Hampshire..
Still I'm glad you are feeling a little better in yourself, and I hope you can overcome the panic attacks, as like GID, our need to work doesn't go away either...

Chrissty
wow, rock chick, congrats!
I guess going out is a HUGE step... wow, seriously, i dont think i have the cojones to do ti right now... i will eventually but, everything at it's time
You should try it hun...no one seems to notice. and it is a huge confidence boost. save the really obvious girl mode for when your confidence is up and just do enough to make you feel like you are doing something.
Great news Rock Chick,
And Iceprincess the first time is the worst. The second is easier the third is a doddle and then all of a sudden it's Ahh :o why was I so frightened.
But be careful. Shops and stuff are great but remember women walking around alone are vulnerable to predators. So remember to be careful :-*
Now I've been Mum again.
Enjoy your lives and your limitations are your own limits; push them.
Hugs
