Title: hello
Post by: Ben on August 04, 2005, 05:33:13 PM
Hi, my name is Ben (well, it's not legally, but meh). I'm F2M, known I wasn't your average girl for nearly two decades (I'm 19 now, so that's basically all my life), first tried to find answers about five years ago, and I've just started my transitions into ->-bleeped-<-.

I'm really stuck at the moment - I feel completely wrong in my female body, as if it's some sort of binding that I need to get out of. I feel like the hands I'm typing with aren't my own, but the hands of someone who was meant to be a woman. This is not me.

When I go online under the name Ben rather than Becki (my "real" name), no matter where it is, it's like I'm really being me. When I come out to a friend, I feel suddenly closer to them. Looking male, acting male, being male - it's what I was born to be, and don't I know it.

I'm young, and I'm not exactly very "far along" in transition, but I hope I'll still be welcome.

Hello Ben,

QuoteI'm young, and I'm not exactly very "far along" in transition, but I hope I'll still be welcome.

You are most certainly welcome here no mater how far along you are, don't fret about that, you have enough on your plate with your transition.  Susans is a great place to be, there is lots of information and lots of supportive people to meet, chat with, and ask questions, and of course seeking advice.  Be sure to check out the Wiki it has tons of info there.

One of our moderators "Dennis" is also FtM and he just had top surgery done yesterday, and he is presently recovering rather well.  He posted to the board today from an Internet Cafe, so I'm sure he will see your post and check in with you.  If he doesn't, let us know and we'll tap him on the shoulder  :) ,  we've never had to do that yet though  :)

In the mean time check things out, relax, your amoung friends.

Take care,

Steph

A very warm welcome to you Ben,

I am Cassie and you will find I am full of advice, or full of it, depending on your point of view. I as well as many others are here to be your friend and help you along. By the way it isn't necessary to tell us your other name, you can just be Ben here. You can modify your post and take that out if you wish. As far as we are concerned you are he and there is no she.

So make yourself a cup of tea or other relaxing beverage, sit down relax take your shoes off and set a spell.

Good Journey,

Cassie

Thankyou all for the positive replies, it means a lot. :) It feels weird posting here, it's the first time I've ever used a TS forum, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

being far along or through transition is a great accomplishment and those that are will give wonderful advice so listen well. being young is an advantage. those of us that are older and really just starting have many deep scars caused by years of not being ourselves. be yourself Ben, as much as you possibly can.

Hi Ben (felt the shoulder tap, thanks Steph :P) and welcome. There are a few of us FtM's around. You're lucky to be starting on your path young. I didn't start till I was 42.

Stick around and post a few.
