I enjoy most any genre of music but shoegazing will always have a special place in my heart :). I like rock, metal, electronic, trip hop, disco, trance, speedcore, industrial, experimental, instrumental, some pop, reggae and a lot of other genres but I can say for certain shoegazing is my favorite genre of all ^_^
Here is a nice video tribute to shoegazing for those who don't know what it is :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0jtZoEqwnM# (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0jtZoEqwnM#)
Some of my favorite bands:
M83
Hammock
Apparat
Trifonic
Blue Sky Black Death
Massive Attack
& some others I can't think of right now lol XD
I like a lot of music, but alternative and so-called "new age" are prolly my faves.
I enjoy rock ( 70s and 80s ), but I am really just a country girl at heart.
Brad Paisley
Kenny Chesney
Brooks and Dunn
Lady Antebellum
Shania Twain

Mostly metal, but I listen to alot of other types too, at the moment i'm listening to Anathema.
I am a metal head and rocker at heart but also like industrial, oldies, classical. I don't get into country much or rap but there are exceptions.
Top bands:
Dimmu Borgir
Grendel
Metalica
Iron Maiden
Behemoth
Apocalyptica (4 cellos that play hard rock! lol)
I am a total music nut; my main territory is old-school goth, post-punk and deathrock. I also listen to related genres - punk, no-wave, noise, experimental industrial, new wave, synth, drone - and some metal, mostly of the atmospheric varieties. I've been known to enjoy old country, folk, rockabilly, psychobilly, jazz and blues now and then, as well.
My favorite song:

Shoegazing, blimey I have not heard to anyone admitting to that one for a while, had to hide all my momus albums. Though nothing would make me put my lush albums away, because they are.
My music taste is pretty much on par with my general interests; all over the place. Also very much depends on where I'm at.. Chillin' at the riverside I'll appreciate some Portishead, Apparat, Massive Attack, Pendulum, Nujabe, Hiphop.. At my local bar they play Rock and Metal and I sing along with Cash and 500 miles... When it's time to party I'll go for Dubstep, DnB, Hardcore and Tekno... At home I'll mix everything into a nice brew and then take shots ranging from Russian Techno to Electro to Rock to Classical to some Pop whether it's with a J or general charts.

I like pretty much anything (except for rap, country, and most opera) so it would be difficult to single out a specific genre of music. There are some days where I listen to large amounts of punk rock. Other days I listen to jazz and harsh noise. It just depends on my mood.
I'm the same when it comes to music really myself. Whatever fits my current mood or just clicks. However I'll listen to some country but never rap as well. I just refuse to listen to that.
I've always loved rap/hip-hop, first CD I ever bought was The W by Wu-Tang Clan.
I also love alternative, Radiohead is one of my favourite bands.
& britpop; The Smiths, The Verve, Stone Roses etc.
I'll listen to virtually any genre, though here are definitely some I listen to more frequently then others. I'm really partial to folk music, especially. Ani DiFranco, Tegan and Sara, Cat Stevens... I also love Alanis Morisette (though she leans a bit more towards pop than folk).
I also like a mix of alternative, rock, and pop music, though-- Owl City, Superchic[k], Shinedown... seriously, I'm not kidding when I say I'll listen to virtually anything!
(I do tend to stear clear of really heavy metal or harder rap, though. I love hard rock and will listen to some hip hop, but heavy metal and rap aggravate my hypersensitive skull and tend to cause headaches, so it's difficult for me to enjoy them.)
I LOVEEEEE RnB soo much!! I prefer Mariah Carey/Ne yo RnB love songs.... I also love taylor swift even though I hate country music! But I listen to everything, except for screamo...
I will at least tolerate most genres of music, but I most enjoy Aggrotech, Industrial Black Metal, Blues, Motown, and some pop music.
Personal favourite bands: Rob Zombie, Lady Gaga, Psyclon Nine, Rihanna, Billie Holiday, Grendel, Aesthetic Perfection.
I like most music. =) but visual kei is my favorite.
Here's a good example of it:

I like rock, rap, classic rock, r and b. Almost anything but country i can stand
Punkrock... More punkrock, even more punkrock, some ska, some metal, opera metal, and a long list of others... But Punkrock reigns supreme in my book.
Bad Religion, Bad Religion, Ignite, Pennywise, Face to Face, No Use for a Name... really, do I need to continue :)
PS: Even more Punkrock and especially Bad Religion
I love Dirty Edgy Rock :)
But My Genre is Definatley trip-Hop
Portishead
CocoRosie
Tricky
UNKLE
Wax taylor
DJ Shadow >:-)

I was partly joking, but I don't like when people get caught up in 'genres'
drawing different assumptions from a certain song or hearsay. This often
results in the sub-conscious pigeonholing of music that the person hasn't
even heard.

what is pigeonholing? sorry if I sound stupid for asking XD
Lol well those are the 2 genres i like.
i wasn't trying to make the other genres feel bad ;)

It's when people think that a band (or person) should stick to a certain style of music. It can apply to things other than music as well.
Oh, ok. Thank you :]

Ohhh don't get me wrong, I love pretty much everything. It's just that some specific sounds agree with me more than others :)

That's excatly how i feel about trip hop.
i don't have a specific band that i like over the others.
anything trip-hop is compelling to me just because of the hypnotizing style
^-^
There are certain genres I have a fondness for because of my childhood, but I love pretty much everything. I don't think the nostalgia makes me consider them better over other ones in personal taste, though.
Math rock/noise, some post-rock, some electronica, bits of jazz. Current favourites include 65daysofstatic, Squarepusher, Cardiacs, Polvo, Tangled Thoughts of Leaving, Four Tet, and You Slut. Which is a legit band name, I swear.

cool stuff
Everything! Which is what everyone says, so mainly Punk, Metal, and Country
I enjoy symphonic metal, most kinds of rock, and certain electronic music (almost always with vocals). One of my friends has been getting me into steampunk stuff lately too.
