This is just for fun... ;D
I was born in the year of the dragon and Kimberly was born in the year of the rabbit. There is a table at the end of the post...
Dragons - Dragons tend to be popular individuals who are always full of life and enthusiasm, with a reputation for being fun-loving. They make good priests, artists and politicians.
Rabbits - Rabbits are affectionate, co-operative and pleasant, with lots of friends. But they can get too sentimental and seem superficial. Ideal careers areas include law, diplomacy or the stage.
Rats - Rats are said to be imaginative, charming and very generous to those they love - although they do have a tendency to be quick-tempered and over-critical. They are supposed to make good writers, critics and publicists.
Ox - Oxen are born leaders, inspiring confidence in everyone they come into contact with. However, they can be too demanding. Methodical and good with their hands, they make fine surgeons and hairdressers.
Tigers - Tigers are said to be bold and adventurous, and are bestowed with initiative and charm. However, they have a tendency to be risk takers, making them act before they think about the consequences. They tend to make good bosses, explorers or racing drivers.
Snake - People born in the year of the Snake are romantic and deep-thinking, wise and charming, although they tend to dismiss others too quickly and are a bit stingy with money. Ideal jobs include teaching or psychiatry.
Horses - If you are born in the Year of the Horse then you are amazingly hard working and very independent. Although you are intelligent and friendly, you can sometimes be a bit selfish. Careerwise you would make a good scientist or poet.
Sheep - Those born in the Year of the Sheep are said to be charming, elegant and artistic, who like material comforts. A bit of a worrier they also have a tendency to complain about things. Jobs as actors, gardeners or beachcombers would suit.
Monkey - If you are born in the Year of the Monkey, you are very intelligent, well-liked by everyone, and will have success in any field you choose. Lucky old you!
Rooster - The sign of the Rooster indicates a person who is hard-working and definite about their decisions. Roosters are not afraid to speak their minds and can therefore sometimes come across as boastful. They make good restaurant owners and world travellers.
Dog - Dogs are honest and faithful to those they love but they tend to worry too much and find fault with others. They make ideal secret agents or business people.
Boar - People born in the Year of the Boar are honest and tolerant and make good friends, but tend to expect the same from everyone else, and more often than not they end up disappointed. They thrive in the arts as entertainers.
So what year were you born ?
Have fun
Steph

Rat
I was born in the year of the monkey. Lucky old me!
Could be worse Cassie I am a rat, although I do like the the description (except the over critical part).
By the way Steph did you know that the years are not all in line so it looks a bit funny.
Shelley
hmmmm, chart says 1950 was Tiger, whats I been going nuts trying to eradicate that kind of thing from my life, so know I know why, I always thought it was something I just learned as a survival technique, but does this mean I was born with it? and stuck with it?

I saw that shell, I tried to fix it but I think I made it worst :) oh well. :)
Steph
I'm a rabbit. :D
Going from memory from the place mat at the local restaurant I like a rabbit (roughly) is:
Luckiest of all the signs.
Rabbits are affectionate yet shy
You seek peace thought your life.
Marry a sheep or a dog late In life.
Your opposite is the Cock.
Wait a sec, I think the late in life part is from another I normally read.
Anyway, for trivia, as mentioned, I am Rabbit, Dad is Dragon, Mom is Sheep and Brother is Rat.
Under modern stars I am Aries, though original stellar placement I believe Taurus, but *shrug* I like Aries so close enough ;)
*wink*

Aha, very sweet.
I always had trouble with straight lines. Do I need to take another course.
Oh yes the other thing... don't you mean rooster :D
Steph
No, that was the term the place mat used... :P ;)
On an interesting related side note I have noticed that the Goat replaces the Sheep on some of the listings though.
Hi Steph,
I wouldn't want to have been described as over critical would I?
Shelley
I am a snake. But I've never placed too much emphasis on the chinese zodiac - I know too many people born in the same year as me who are nothing like a "snake." For me, that description is pretty good. I've thought about a job as a teacher and psychiatrist, but I feel like I'm still a student with too many of my own issues.
i'm a rat like shelley, and my spouse is a tiger.
QuoteYour opposite is the Cock.
I guess since I'm a girl, that would be my opposite. lol. ;D
I'm a Rabbit
I'm a Rabbit & a Taurus
Jessica
I am indeed a Dragon. :icon_mrhappy:
Tiger and a Leo. Mrrrrowr.
Dennis
(actually cancer leo cusp, but I don't know what sound crabs make)
rooster/picies...
:)
I am a sheep, but the description does not fit me very well although I do like to work in the garden on occasion.
Rooster.....
........ does that make me cocky?

That table is a little misleading. It needs to be more specific on the actual dates for the Chinese Years including the months. I believe the Chinese Year starts sometime in late January or early February if I am not mistaken and varies from year to year within these two months based on the Gregorian Calendar. I know for a fact that even though I was born in '63, I am a Capricorn and still a Tiger. ;) I always wondered why I love to race cars and take risks so much. Now I know why... Lol!

Me too. So is my daughter.

Dragon, married to a snake. Yikes.
I am a Leo and an Oxen, does that mean anything
LEO:
The Leo type is the most dominant, spontaneously creative and extrovert of all the zodiacal characters. In grandeur of manner, splendor of bearing and magnanimity of personality, they are the monarch's among humans as the lion is king of beasts. They are ambitious, courageous, dominant, strong willed, positive, independent, self-confident there is no such a word as doubt in their vocabularies, and they are self-controlled. Born leaders, either in support of, or in revolt against, the status quo.
So mix a Leo with an Ox, is that a good thing, or am I just too head-strong for my own good??
Monkey.......... and if I remember correctly more specificaly a Metal Monkey hehe..... and a libra to boot.......maby thats why I can still get up and walk away after falling out of a big tree :P
For my zodiac sign, I'm a cancer. However, I tend to not quite be conventional in the sense of the typical cancer since I do not hide in my shell any more.

horse . . . and coincidentally I try and write creatively every day (though it's harder some days than others), which includes poems. But poetry is not really a viable career option at this point in the world.
scorpio, too. Not that any of that stuff means anything. Just fun . . .
Well by the scale I am a dog ;).
Also a Cancer Star sign.
Alice
IM a WABBIT!
I always no I was cute cuddle and adorble but i wasn't aware i have big ears!! great another insecurity!! thanks Steph!!! >:(
Rabbits - Rabbits are affectionate, co-operative and pleasant, with lots of friends. But they can get too sentimental and seem superficial. Ideal careers areas include law, diplomacy or the stage.
How many people want to dispute that!? LOL

That is correct. It fluctuates from January 27 to Febuary 3rd "I believe" so any one who was born in the early part of the year look at the year before.

Rooster/Taurus here, and it's always fun to joke about. :D
I'm a female Tiger. Grrrrrrrr. Watch out. ;)
A bit of caution is a good thing around Tigers, since they can pounce without warning. They experience mood swings and often feel things more intensely than others, the latter quality being both good and bad. They can react poorly under stress and are prone to emotional outbursts. This Sign's bristling sensitivity can send friend and foe running for cover.
That kind of sound like me, I think. :icon_weirdface: ??? Maybe.
:)

Goat. Baaaa!
Which makes sense since I'll eat practically anything! ;D
Leo - so I'm proud of it!

Dragon !
but I alwayse understand Dragons were mythical creatures !...does this mean I don't realy exhist ??? hehehehehe
Bob......
I am a RAT!
I have a gold and diamond pendent brought in Beijing that I wear in the shape of my birth animal.
I have spent a lot of time in Asia and have grown to understand the people and the culture. Recently in a business trip to Hong Kong, we couldn't get a seat in any restaraunt as it was a "good day to get married" and every establishment had at least one reception in!
I have my name tattoed in Chinese on my lower back and my house has traditional friendship banners both outside and in to show friends they are welcome (enemies please stay away!)
I recently had a serious sporting injury and had traditional Chinese accupuncture and Teijing massage, which I was amazed really speeded up my recovery ( I am not sure how sticking needles in my left ear, butt and knee can help a ruptured right achilles, but it sure did!)
Yep .... there is a lot to learn from Eastern culture and birth animals.
Buffy (aka the Rat)
lol when I posted last it seems I forgot the normal part of this tred. I'm a Dragon/AquariusII. I guess being air headed is in my nature :D
Hi I´m snake and scorpion ;)
I am a Dragon and the wife is a Rooster....
Peace,
Taylor
I'm a tiger, yet I don't see myself as such a risk taker like the calander suggests.
gin
I'm an OX. I know I have been called that many times. Why couldn't I have been born under something that was a little smaller. GEEEZ

Actually, I've got a sneaky suspicion that the Chinese "dragon" is really our "dinosaur". And given the other meaning of dinosaur, pehaps dragon is a good thing to be.
Me, I'm a monkey. Which means when I get mad I can-- um, be assertive and use my feeling words. Yeah, that's it.
