Title: Deciding on an STP
Post by: Moshgrizzly on May 31, 2010, 07:13:11 PM
Hello, Gents. Long time lurker coming out of hiding to post. Name's Bear, for the time being.

I'm trying to decide on my first STP device, more specifically between the Pstyle or the travelmate.

They're both the same price, and the Pstyle looks easier to use, but I know more than a few guys who swear by the Travelmate.

Anybody willing to give me a reccomendation?

They are used a tad differently and that  makes the difference based on preference and ease of use. I would use the travelmate and better yet the medicine spoon. The commercial ones usually are used outside the vulva and to me are messy. They are easier to learn to use and therfore faster to be able to use often and won't leak, travelmate takes some practice to use without leaks everytime but is smaller.

If you want something that's small and easy to conceal I'd recommend not getting the pStyle. However, I use one myself because I couldn't get the medicine spoon to work for me it ALWAYS leaked even after several attempts using different positions. I'm happy with my pStyle as I can use it anytime and not worry about making a mess even if it requires a big pocket to carry around.

I use a converted medicine spoon and am extremely happy with it. If I were to pick a commercial STP it would be the Travelmate for sure. But using it requires some...intimate inspection of exactly what's going on down there in order to position it properly until you learn to do it by feel.

The PStyle is probably much easier to learn, but it's really really big, and I think it would be messier (medicine-spoon-style receptacles mean nothing gets on your skin outside the immediate area around the urethra).
