Debrahlee Lorenzana isn't trans. But if what she claims is true, trans people should be concerned about her situation.

Lorenzana has filed a lawsuit against Citigroup, claiming that she was fired from her job because her employer claimed that her appearance was too distracting to her (straight) male colleagues, according to The Village Voice.

Her lawsuit claims that she was forbidden from wearing turtlenecks, pencil-skirts, high heels, and fitted business suits, although she says her female coworkers were not put under the same dress code. When she protested, she lost her job.

In this country, men, who are too fat and inevitably expose their navel under t-shirts, are never admonished, but slim women exposing their navel in office can get warning from their boss.

Sounds like a law suit that will but bankrupt Citigroup.  Which is a damn fine thing.

Real poor choice of photos no doubt.  And good luck, Citibank, like most corps have buildings full of lawyers whose job it is to drag this out till no one cares, and they tend to win most of the time.  And even the largest settlement on this issue ($34 million in a class action suit) will not even dent Citibank with $1.1 trillion (yes TRILLION) dollars in assets.

I'm almost 7 months behind on my Citibank card and this is yet another reason I'm not giving them another dime. Last time I checked, their stock value was between $3-$4 per share. They've already received a bailout and also were in trouble with some type of corporate fraud recently if I recall. Maybe this company should start doing something right instead of worrying about attractive female employees who probably actually do their jobs.
