Title: Tattoos stretching when transistioning
Post by: MRH on June 06, 2010, 02:57:28 PM
I have a tattoo on my bicep and im planning on getting a few more but i'm worried that if I go on T they will stretch due to my body changing. I think the bicep one might be ok. I guess it depends on how much muscle I will gain.

Has anybody who has transistioned had a problem with tattoo stretching or know anyone this has happened to. I wanna get another tattoo soon but dont really wanna take the risk if/when I do transistion.

You don't automatically gain the muscle of a body builder, unless you exercise to gain it your muscle builds but not enough to stretch a tattoo.

Well yeah I dont expect to explode into this huge guy in like a second (that would be amusing though) but still my body is gonna change whilst on T. My fat from around my thighs and hips are gonna shift a bit and I was kinda looking at a thigh tattoo so I wasnt sure if it would stretch at all.

I doubt it will shift. You have to exercise to lose it.

I just remember seeing a video and this guy said that his thighs and hips changed a lot whilst on T so it just got me thinking. But if theres nothing to worry about then I can go and get inked up lol

I always wondered what happened when that little butterfly tattoo on the sorority girls behind became Mothra in middle age.

T does shift it. It takes a while, but you gain a masculine fat distribution.

Obviously if you're simply fat, you're not going to automatically drop weight, but it does change.

Unless you got a tat on your chest [won't ask if you did...] i can't see any reason why that would mess with it?

I've kind of had the oposite. I have colorful tribal arm band tats. My arms have started to shrink from estrogen and the tatoos are looking much more intense in color!

I am a little worried about this myself..
I have a tattoo down one side of my ribcage.
Does anyone think that it would get stretched after top surgery?
