(CNN) -- A nearly 25-year study concluded that children raised in lesbian households were psychologically well-adjusted and had fewer behavioral problems than their peers.
The study, published Monday in the journal Pediatrics, followed 78 lesbian couples who conceived through sperm donations and assessed their children's well-being through a series of questionnaires and interviews.

Of course one of the family values groups, Concerned Women for America, summed the study up like this:
"You have to be a little suspicious of any study that says children being raised by same-sex couples do better or have superior outcomes to children raised with a mother and father," she said. "It just defies common sense and reality."
Not that any of us would be suspicious of anything the CWA has to say. "Defies common sense and REALITY!!!" Someone needs to do a reality check.
An interesting article, Julie. I made a copy and am going to read it again. I will comment on it later because those opposed to children being raised by same sex couples fail to see a few crucial points.

QuoteStudies have shown that children thrive having both a mother and a father, Wright said.
The divorce rate in America for first marriage is 41%, and fathers generally not in the picture, how are children have both a Mother and a Father faring better? With a lesbian couple children have two parents, just as straight couples.
What all these studies show, and they are very consistent from study to study, is that children do better when there are two parents instead of one, regardlessof sex/gender, and children also do better if they have siblings as opposed to being an only child. So the best deal is to have two parents and at least one brother/sister.
