"A "female to male" "transgender" conference attended last week by hundreds of young women, including teenagers, featured show-and-tell breast-removal workshops for females trying to be "men,"

I thought this would wind you all up :)
Not only is so much of the information wrong in that article, it is just ridiculous. Based on the title I was thinking that it had been the conference I went to in Philadelphia and I was about to get even more involved.
Regardless of the content all the air quoting makes me want to punch the "author"

Nah, it's from 2002, but I just stumbled across it.
HRC so isn't the world's leading homosexual organization.
One thing that I've been thinking about reading this article is...well...what the heck convention is this? I don't really understand what S&M and leather groups are doing if it's a thing specifically for FTMs. Also, what the eff is this person doing at a transgender conference if they dislike/are ignorant of FTMs? Why is transgender in quotes but homosexuality is not!?
D:
Apparently, this guy has been very involved in opposing the gay/transgender movement. What a piece of crap.

because being trans is a synonym for being extra gay... duh

But...that means people exist that are gay but people that are trans don't exist?

well people that are trans exist but probably fall under the homosexual label so therefore the word transgender without quotations is unnecessary
I shouldn't have read the damned article. I was in such a good mood today...
**CK. I Hate people...
Also if anyone wants to get anymore riled up go all the way down to the bottom where it talks about the author. Click the link to the organization the author founded called Americans for Truth(About Homosexuality). Thats a fun site.

But then why doesn't homosexuality have quotes?
PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT I AM COMMENTING AS I AM AS IF I WERE ON THE SIDE OF THE AUTHOR. I DO NOT FEEL TRANS PEOPLE DO NOT EXIST.
I don't want people to get the wrong idea...warnings are needed.
Aydan: Don't let it get to you. Just laugh at the ignorant morons.

lol I'm confusing myself.
Also I would like to put the same disclaimer up. Obviously I don't think that being trans is the same as being extra gay.
Your a troublemaker I see Ryan. ;)
I didn't read the article but I can just imagine the religious propaganda, the deliberate misunderstandings and the half truths it must contain.
Good thing I'm secure enough in myself to not pay any mind to someone who has no idea what it is like to be in my shoes.
So gross! I think my favourite bit is where he talks about scars, where full breasts once were. It's just all OH NO WHY WOULD YOU GET RID OF BOOOOOOBS.
Puke. That website is full of crap, in a funny way.
WTH :o . well the world is full of all kinds of stupid ,retarded haters of different groups of people , i either totally ignore it , or fix the wrong concepts to people exposed to misinforming articles/media if i could , and although i tried a lot , i was never capable of laughing at things like this or find it amusing
QuotePeter LaBarbera is a senior policy analyst at the Culture & Family Institute, an affiliate of Concerned Women for America. He is also founder of Americans For Truth, which is dedicated to opposing the homosexual, bisexual and "transgender" movements, and a contributing editor to Human Events newspaper.
This says it all; it's just a fascist organization. The author is a fascist. Result: You'll get bias, and nothing more.
"After barely making it through Reardon's "Chest Surgey" slide show without fainting..."
Wuss. Or would that be- in the author's words- "wuss"?
Nah, it's from 2002, but I just stumbled across it.
Quit wasting our time, old news is never exciting. But for you, who seem to love 2002, The Eminem Show, Nellyville, and Let Go by Avril Lavigne are all going to be real big in your world real soon.
2002 was a crazy year for me! Takes me back.
I don't even remember what happened to me in 2002 lol
I was but a young punk, discovering the world and building a record collection. It seemed like I got a lot more action then even tho I was totally miserable!
Ah, 2002. That was a wild year for me.
I'm already in a bad mood today, and this just put me in a mood to kill someone.
I am enraged that they called the men who spoke in the article, "she" and only made it sound like "women" attended. I could go on, but it would be very explicit and not worth the ban time. Have a nice day.
I often wonder what it's like in these people's heads. Honestly, the stuff about the painting sounds utterly made up, or the person would have taken a picture.
It never ceases to amaze me just how closed-minded, bigoted, and downright idiotic people can be. It's horrifying. :-\ It's people like this who I think need some serious re-education. Or maybe just mind-erasing. Like perhaps a 120hr Teletubbies marathon with no sleep allowed. >:-) ...Or maybe not.
QuoteIt sure was a strange sight, knowing that God created these people as females.
...No. Just... Just no.
QuoteIn other words, minors could still attend sessions devoted to sexual issues and self-mutilation.
...This guy really needs to be punched in the face. Really.
And the sad thing is that, for most extremists like this, as they get older they just get more outlandish and bigoted. If he was like this in 2002, I'd hate to see what he's like now.
Yeah unfortunately I found that article last september. It put me back about a month :( Now I look at it and just don't care. It's not like I need the approval of a bunch of fanatic American christians before I make necessary changes in my life...
A moment of snark. Aimed at hypocritical fanatics ONLY.
Next time someone self-righteously tells me he or she is a born-again Christian, I just might say, "What, you couldn't get it right the first time?" or "You might want to go for three. I don't think you're doing it right yet."
After all, I thought pride was a sin...and that final judgment was supposed to be left up to the deity.
I just answer them in that La Femme Nikita (or was it the remake?) tone with: How very nice for you. If they persist, and they tend not to, I tell them that god made me an agnostic, and who are they to ->-bleeped-<- with god? I've never had one continue the conversation after that.
didn't read the article. not going to read the article even though i'm sure it would be great for a few lolz and a couple hours of depression. ;)

a customer at work was trying to preach to me right before easter. i politely said "thanks but i'm pagan :D" i was hoping for more of a reaction than "NO YOU ARE NOT!". I told her to have a nice easter xD
No 'Christian' has ever had a response to "who are you to ->-bleeped-<- with god." It's a gold medal, blue ribbon answer.
