Written by Naseem Anujm, 'Nurk', an Urdu novel, raises serious questions about the rehabilitation of eunuchs in the society and takes the exception of the negative characters that kidnap minors and turns them into transgenders by the inhuman process of castration.

The novel was launched at a reception held at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) where speakers demanded of the government to take notice of serious issues related to eunuchs.

Renowned short story writer, A. Khayyam, who presided over the function, said that the problems raised by Anjum in her novel must be taken seriously by the government. He said that it was courageous of Anjum to write on such a topic.

I'm confused. Is the kidnapping and castration a real issue, or is it a false issue used to scare the people?
