Title: Surgeon for orchiectomy near Washington DC.
Post by: Cali on June 14, 2010, 03:32:45 PM
Hi everyone.  I've been fulltime now for almost 14 months and am strongly considering getting an orchiectomy.  I've heard about good, reasonably priced surgeons on the west coast, but I'd prefer to find someone more local if possible.  I live just south of Washington DC.  Does anyone have any recommendations for a surgeon who they know does orchiectomies . .

1) that minimally impact future SRS surgery
2) that are reasonably priced (under $3000)
3) who would be willing to write a letter about the "irreversibility" of the procedure that I might be able to show to Virginia officials about the possibility of a birth certificate change.

Thanks!

Callie

Dr McGinn does do ochiectomies, though a bit higher than you mentioned.

Here is her website:

She is a wonderful woman and very good surgeon.  She did my SRS as well as the surgeries of many other on this list.  She works out of Philadelphia and Miami.

She can also supply you with documentation post surgery that will describe in detail the irreversible nature of the surgery.  If there is a specific form that she needs to fill out, provide that to her prior to surgery.

She is very thoughtful and caring.
