Title: Concerns when startting T ?
Post by: ALBdegas on June 23, 2010, 03:16:56 PM
Recently, I have been having some concerns and thoughts about starting T..I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and I am wondering if the T could affect it in anyway.. I already have alot of facial hair and basically I am just an overly hairy person.

Also, what are the results when starting T ? Will I loose some of my hair and if so, should I just cut some of it off ?(I have a full set of hair, medium length though)

From what I know/have seen, you shouldn't lose the hair you already have. In some cases the finer hair may fall out and fill in with thicker, black hair. I think that's what happened with my sideburns. I already had sideburns from using Rogaine, and then they thinned dramatically, and now they're filling back in.

Don't know about the PCOS though.

Your hairline is likely to change to a more masculine one. Losing hair depends on your age. Starting testosterone can trigger male pattern baldness if it runs in your family.

I know nothing about the PCOS either, sorry. I strongly suggest speaking to a doctor about it before starting T though.

Apparently a lot of FTMs have PCOS. I don't, but I know there are quite a few on this board.
