P.S. No buzzkillin' on my birth name, cool? :P
yay!
Wow. Nice.
Keep grinning, you deserve it. ;D
Thats nice. In fact thats really good. Way to go, James
Thanks everyone! I posted the screenshot on my Facebook as well and I've had so many awesome comments from friends and family. And I've already received several really nice emails from coworkers as well (even though it was sent right at the end of our work day and I didn't expect to hear anything - if at all - til Monday). I'm positively giddy.
Now to head home and watch zombie movies! Friday FTW! :D
Congrats James. Seems like your workplace is very accepting.
Also I like the "Have a fabulous weekend" part of the email.
Fabulous, Daahhhhhling.
This is fantastic. But don't be surprised if someone takes the "any questions" part to mean ANY questions at all, no matter how personal. You know what I'm getting at...::)
awesome I hope everyone takes it well!
what zombie movies you gonna watch?
That's awesome!
And your birth name is my birth name XD
Awesome james! i'm so happy for you!
Congrats James! That's great!
And a fellow graphic designer. Awesome!
Greg: She's totally just a straight chick, and she uses the "fabulous" thing all the time, but yeah I found that funny too. ;D
Arch: The thing is, I'm known for my "TMI" moments, and I am really REALLY open to questions and educating people. So there's really nothing they could ask that I haven't already been asked, and comfortably answered, a dozen times already!
Elijah: I ended up busy recording my first YouTube vid (eek!) which is uploading as we speak. I'll put on a movie soon, probably either Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, or Resident Evil, depending upon my mood when I actually get off my butt to put it on. lol
Shang: Thanks. And yeah, we were two of about a zillion with that name, haha.
Damian: Thanks, I really appreciate it. :)
Chris: My gender specialist actually said that he was amazed how many FTMs are graphic designers. Like a statistically significant number of us. Crazy, hey?
I dunno....I think 'Sara' is more common that 'Sarah'...and last I checked...it's barely in the 100 names xD
Congrats, James. It's nice to see you moving forward.
Shang: the year I was born (back when people tied onions to their belts, as it was the style at the time...), Sarah was the #1 name on the list. Fo'realz.
Jamie: Thanks, it's really nice to not feel stuck in limbo. :)

Well, then...I think it wasn't a very common name when I was born. At least, I've never encountered many 'Sarah's running around.
It might also be a "where you live" kind of thing. I'm in Canada. Who knows if that makes any difference though. But yeah, back in 1979 it was the #1 name.
EDIT: And I should add, every year in school there were multiple Sarahs in my class.
The name Sarah was popular to name your kid in the late 80's in Canada as well. I know so many Sarah's, haha.
Thats so awesome!! I alway wonder how my work will take it when I come out.
Definitely awesome. Sounds like a great workplace. :)
That's awesome! :D
That's great, James. You should frame a copy of your email to make you smile every time you see it - maybe on the back of the bathroom door so you can read while you....contemplate.
Just be glad you weren't called Victoria >:(
Congrats!
I'm really happy for you! :)
My workplace did something similar, and nobody really asked me any questions at all. Just changed names and pronouns.
Congrats!
Jay
Thats awesome, congrats ;D
Thanks everyone! And Jay, the questions have already started, lol. We're a really tightly-knit group though, so I knew there would be much discussion. And I'm cool with that. :)

See! We're everywhere! lol
But yeah, he was totally sincere and said that he was quite frankly amazed at how many of us FTMs are designers or vice versa. Which made me think, is it that a disproportionate number of designers are FTMs, or that a disproportionate number of FTMs are designers... Ya know what I mean?
:D Wow!! I hope something exciting as that happens to me.

It might just be the art field in general too. I swear I see quite a number of FTMs on art sites.
