this is a question about bottom surgery.
I have been considering gender reassignment surgery, and was wondering how "real" the vagina would be i.e. does is get wet/ taste like a vagina does? ; would it be my male reproductive..... stuff or more the female lubrication?
hopefully I explained this right
I'm kind of curious, too.. the process itself is quite fascinating, but um, I shy away from some aspects just yet. :P
One thing I would point out is that men produce a lubricant too, though I'm not sure how similar it is to a woman's. It's probably the same, as learning about SRS has really shown me more similarities than I could otherwise have imagined. It factors in if you manage to last a little while before orgasm. You seem to be suggesting that semen would play a part, which would be hard considering that the testes are removed.
But I'm sure as hell no authority!
I've been wondering about SRS too. Does it feel good to have sex? Can you get an orgasm?
The short answer is yes to all of those.
There are many threads that deal with orgasm and feelings. They are quite detailed.
For me, the feeling is different, but quite satisfying. I have clitoral and vaginal orgasm, and while external lubrication is needed initially, if there is tenderness and time taken with me, natural lubrication occurs as well.

I just want to know every aspect of it so I can make a decision on the subject.
Although I feel as though I should have a vagina, I would rather have a fully functioning penis than a vagina that tastes like male semen.
Does the "becoming wet" aspect gradually occur naturally?

I've seen a lot of people saying they wouldn't want to use their vagina for inter-coarse which is not the case for me. I identify as a lesbian and want girls to go down on me. I just don't want my vagina to be semen flavored.

What Sandy posted has made me feel a little better about it, but I'm sure if you make a consultation with a doctor who can do it, he/she can tell you all the aspects about the results. =D
No, hon, your vagina will not taste like semen unless someone puts some in there. :)
In all seriousness, though, only your gynecologist will know for sure. There will be nothing that any potential partner would be able to tell under the most close examination. ...trust me.

hahahaha Sany you are awesome! I need more people in my life like you.
Thank you for putting that (immense) fear to rest. I will make an appointment as soon as possible.
Who would I go to by the way?

It depends on a lot of factors. There are a few in the U.S. All of them are listed in our wiki here. All of them have websites so you can review their procedures. Check them out.
Then, if you decide, make an appointment for a consultation. Though you may have to travel to see them in person. Some of them do phone consultations as well. This information should be on their websites.
This decision is one that most trans people agonize over. It requires time, money, and dedication. It is not a decision to be taken lightly. Also you will have to have therapy and recommendations from two therapists AND live as your chosen gender for a year. It is usually the last step to take in our journey of transition.
We will be here for you in your journey, Shane.

You won't have any semen since the testicles will be gone. Most of the fluid would be produced by the prostate, which is a clear liquid. I have never tasted a woman, but am told it is also a bit salty. I think diet and hormones can affect the flavor and smell of bodily fluids.
