Has anyone else not been able to log into Susan's for the last 2 days?
I couldn't log on all day yesterday.
The server has been have problems. Susan is trying to clear it up.

I've heard of situations where some servers get blocked because of one site stored on them. I don't kbow how true this is, but feared this might have happened.

When you're blocked, it tells you that, if you get some message that they couldn't find it, it tends to mean hardware problems at the other end.
Is the IRC down again, I keep getting.

yeah, I'm guessing web content has higher priority then irc at the moment (as far as getting the server back to normal).
I couldn't get to it either for the last two days, I felt so lost! lol

The screen I got said that Windows is unable to connect to the server. It had a tab, Diagnose connection problems, which said my connection is fine.
I get this now and again, when I try to connect to something that is politically sensitive, usually something in the ME, but Russia is another frequent place that is blocked.
The other screens, DNS Error and such are, of course, different and suggest hardware faults or some idiots doing a mass attack.
Those of us who began surfining in the 90s, before Google, will remember the huge amounts of information available on almost every subject. Now, it seems, finding decent information is somewhere between a major chore and impossible.
That's bad enough. But blocking Susans' is not on.
Wouldn't connect to the site, period for me.
I can now log in again but I'm having problems on the mod area. However, it is amazing how many of us need this site :laugh: :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Couldn't load the site for a couple days... But obviously it's working now
But I'm not getting all of my e-mail notifications... I've been having to jump about and guess all day :-\

might be a bug or corrupt database (in the forum software) since the server went down without proper shutdown (?).
Couldn't get on either. Seems just fine now

Gouger Street for some really nice reastuarents. Are you OK with marine food (I am long as I do not have to point at it in the aquarium) . I like meat but also have no problems with total vegetarian.
Trying very hard to be upbeat 'cos I know it is only personal sadness that is upsetting me.

I understand where some are comming from with the comment, 'Get a Life'.
But I think our lives are made up of elements. I think of mine, for example, my home, my wife, my allotment, my car and what I do on my computer.
In the case of my computer, I meet people in an online game, where we spend more time chatting than defeating the dark forces. I have regular verbal sword fights with people on a current affairs forum. And Susans', where I can say things, read things and discuss things that I can't elsewhere.
It seems perfectly natural, for anyone, to feel a bit of a loss when one of these isn't available.
