My friend at work pierced my ears today after work. We went shopping too while we were out.
Here is the thing, I have to wear these earrings for 10 weeks. And I am not going to take them out (even if I could) every time I am with them. So I am going to leave them in during dinner.
My mom knows I am trans, but is not happy about it and keeps telling me to throw everything out. D: Hell I am going to do that.
Anyways, she is going to notice my ears and say something, my dad will see and ridicule me. And I will have to come out to everyone :'(
:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
Aww I'm sorry bb. Stay strong though! <3 It'll be worth it in the end!
I know so many straight+cis guys who have pierced ears that I don't think they mean much anymore, it really depends on what earrings you wear with them.
Ok, yes, they did see. My mom knows I am trans, but doesn't accept it. She was more angry over my pierced ears than my dad, my dad wasn't happy, but more for my sake than his own. Mom was pissed. D:
And good riddance clip-on earrings :D I wonder if I can make my favorite ones into real earrings.

haha, mom just came up and yelled at me for 10 minutes. She had been snooping and found my drawer of clothes. She said that I should stop and throw everything out. Then she said it was sin, and then she said that I will never be accepted in life, then she said that I will never look quite right, then she said that I had said that I would stop, which I never did. -_-
rage. >:(
Mom isn't going to spend the next 60+ years in that body. You are. Strive to be you, it is worth it in the long run.
Yay!
I remember the first time I had my ears pierced. I took them out before they were ready because I was worried about other people.
Second time, I left them in. My bosses at the time looked at me oddly, but didn't say anything. Of course I was growing my hair out at the time too ...
Yep yep. I am the one doing it, not her. I shall continue doing what makes me happy. Even though my mom says that its a perversion, but she never gave me a good answer as to what that meant.
I am happy to see that you also did the whole run around with the ears ;) I am going to leave my pretty pink fake diamonds in my ears until 10 months has gone by, period. Let the ridicule begin :D
it takes ten months to heal!!!??
my lip piercings only look about a month to heal
anyway, stay strong, if YOU want earrings, then keep them in, and don't let anyone stop you. You had to miss out on getting earrings as a child, which is something most girls get, so you enjoy it! Don't let anyone stop you from enjoying it!

If you're lucky, the holes will heal in about two months. Personally, my ears never healed and always got in infected (I'm allergic to nickel and silver apparently).
But keep doing what you're doing, hun! Enjoy the earrings and enjoy your life. Lead it how you see fit because it's your life.
Wow. Major fail on my part. Meant weeks not months. My friend from work that pierced my ears, she said that they say 6 weeks, but she recommends 10 weeks. She used to work at clare's and did ear piercings.

Thanks you two, for the vode of confidence. I defiantly feel better now about my choice. And I got 24 Caret gold 3mm just as she suggested, so hopefully if I put on the antiseptic 3 times a day, it will be okay and I wont get infected. They feel good right now :D

That's good. If it does get infected, take the earrings out and soak them in alcohol and you can clean your ears with peroxide (it doesn't hurt, or shouldn't) and then rinse them out really well. You can also lance it if it gets really bad, such as with a needle or you can get an actual lance. Hopefully they heal properly! :D
Oh, stay away from blankets with holes. XD They're not very fun to get the earrings hooked on.

Excellent advice! I will keep all of those things on the top of my head so if anything happens I can fix it, and also not get hooked on them. Yes that I would imagine would be bad.
I really love this forum, it gives me a break from everyone else in my life either online or IRL that are telling me otherwise. Although my mom is like "those people are fueling your sin and you need to stop reading those pages!!" Whatever. You people are the nicest people out there, and are selfless enough to help out your sister in need.
Thank you.
When you move to regular earings remember not to leave dangling earing in when you go to bed......

d'oh >_< that is totally something that I would do. I go to sleep with my contacts in all the time D: and then wake up at midnight with sore eyes... And when I open them everything is foggy mucus. TMI, but yeah.
Hi CrazyTina
Read my Signature :), In addition, do what you want to do. You know what the right thing to do is and if it makes you happy, then you are not doing anything wrong.
Changing is not a perversion, never has been and it will never be. Take care and all the best for the future.
Kind regards
Sarah B
I fall asleep with my contacts still....I have only left a pair of danglys in once!

Yay! I'm nice! :) And no problem. If you have issues, always here to help.
@Cynthialee: I've fallen asleep with danglies once. I believe it was probably the reason my second time of trying piercings failed.
LLLLOOTS of stuff happened tonight. Brother was VERY convincing as he is very philosophical being an english teacher.
I need to sleep on it before I talk... I just need some sleep... I am not going to deny my feelings even though he is good with words, but he really put my feelings into perspective with his own.
But tomorrow. I will talk.
Try not to touch your ears and ear rings with you hands. That's how mine got infected and I need antibiotics, there fine now. BTW I wear hoops at work in drab, have plucked eye brows and no one has said anything.
As far as philosophy is concerned. It's your body, it's your life. It's your decision. Do what you want to do otherwise you will never be happy.
Cindy -who is increasingly happy and even reducing my depression medication

Sorry but you shouldn't do that, peroxide dries out piercings. Infections are kinda rare in piercings but irritations are not, especially in healing piercings, alot of people mistake normal healing with an infection. I know it's hard but while they are healing don't touch them or move them if you can help it, moving them will irritate them, prolong healing and could put dirt into the wound. You should be cleaning your piercing with sea salt soaks once or twice a day. Just put 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt into a mug of hot water wait till you can stand the heat and put your lobe in, if thats too uncomfy get a cotton wool ball or something and use that to soak your piercing.
Hope they heal fast :)
oops I have been touching them ::)
Anyways, I was told by my friend from work that I should use the special piercing antiseptic that I bought 3 times a day and that I should use cotton ball on front and then back and then twist the earring to get the antiseptic inside to clean it out.
your friend is right

Your friend is wrong, you shouldn't twist your piercing, like I said it just irritates it, breaks healing skin and it could cause dirt to go in the hole and that could cause an infection. Leave them till they are healed.
I was told that you have to turn them every once and awhile when the holes are new.

So was I, by the person who pierced them. >:( But then I didn't get them pierced at a professional place, I got them done with a gun at a place like claires. I was young then though. Now I know that's bad advice.
Yeah, well the girl that did it for me worked at Claire's for a long time... She didn't even use a gun ;D she just used the cartridge by hand.
So here is what I shall do. With my left ear I shall twist, with the right ear I will not. Which ever becomes infected or irritated first is the wrong way, and I will report my findings. :P
Or maybe I will just do what she said, since I trust her a lot.
when I got my ears pierced as a kid, and I think my brothers got theirs done too (odd) anyway, we were told to twist them maybe 5 times before bed, it keeps the skin from healing over the metal, but make sure you have clean hands when you do it.
Just to join in my tattooist who is also a piercer recommends that you turn them so that you get the antiseptic inside the hole . Also if you do leave them, when you eventually take them out to swap for new ones your just gonna rip the inside of the hole apart
Was contemplating making a new thread. But since in the smallest way it relates to this event...
I WAS KICKED OUT!
:'( So now I have no where to live except my car. I am asking people I know if I can stay with them, but so far no one has said for sure yes.
Wish me luck. As that is what I need now more than anything.

I used peroxide, mostly because I use peroxide for every sort of cut or infection...I'm very paranoid about infections.
I agree people can mistake normal irritation for infections, but when you get a lump that's pretty big and puss and stuff, I'm fairly certain it's an infection.
I'm so sorry to hear that Christina! *hugs* I wish you so much luck!

I'm so sorry to hear that Christina, I really hope that you get on your feet soon. I had been reading your thread and was sure that they would come around when they realised that it was not a phase. I had such hippy parents that I suppose that I assume that everyone will understand. I have no idea what to say to you as I don't know what kind of help there is for young people in the U.S, but best of luck and know that there are people thinking of you.
Take care Millie xxx
Oh Tina,
I am so sorry to hear that. May the gods bless you with a new and brighter place to live.
One of the features of going through all this is you get to find out who really loves you and who does not. I think, in the end, it's better to know and by culling the relationships that were built on something other than unconditional love, you can fill your life with more people that do really care about you, the real you. But I definitely wish you could have learned this a bit later when you weren't so vulnerable.
I wish I had advice for you. Good luck! I'll be thinking of you.
There is a roof over my head tonight. And I am still looking for a home, to share with a room mate, since I cannot afford an apartment on my own. Soon I shall be free. But now I am still struggling.
That's great! Keep that attitude too!! :)

Stay strong dear
{{{HUGS}}}I wish I was wealthy so I could start a "Transition House" to help trans people that have been wrongly treated and put out so they can get their bearings and get on with their lives
My thoughts exactly Virginia.
Good luck Christina. I hope that in someway this all works out for the best for you

:) I wish there was someone I could live with. But seeing as today is independence day... go figure, right? Anyways...
I still need to find a place to sleep that isn't as risky as where I am not. I hope I do not get arrested. I will not go into detail since it would be material evidence. I did not break in to stay here, and there is a shower and a toilet, so I should be okay, no blankets and no soft surface. But I will survive, just as you all have, no matter what was thrown at you.
Independence day. Fitting.
Omg that doesn't sound good, be careful...
That sux.
I hope this provides you the oportunities to grow that you folks seem bent on denying you.

But Tina I'm so sorry. I'll keep your in my thoughts. Stay strong and remember that this is who you are! What's the point in living with your parents if you aren't you?

Hopefully one day something like it can exist, unless something already does exist haha. But it would be a great place. Being transgender isn't very common though I guess.
Christina I'm so sorry to read that this happened to you. That was my greatest fear of coming out to my parents, but thankfully, I was blessed with my parents supporting me through my transition and actually just wanting me to be happy.
If you lived in Australia, I'd invite you to live with me. Might not be too long until I move out (Maybe a month or so) looking to get a job in Geelong (a good 2 hour drive from where I currently live) If you were to move down here, you'd be most welcome to stay with me! :)
*hugs*
I've heard of that sort of house(s) existing amongst the gay community in NY, but I'm sure there aren't enough it would be great to have them everywhere.

So this is then end of this thread. Thank you.
