Title: bathroom standards
Post by: gilligan on July 07, 2010, 12:49:58 PM
I have a simple question (most likely with a very complicated answer):

Do cis-males ever pee sitting down?

I have always used women's public restrooms mainly because I feel more comfortable urinating while sitting down. I have read on the internet during my research that some cis-males do pee sitting down, although I have a hard time believing it.

Any advice?

My dad sits down to pee in the morning or at night because he's too tired to bother standing up.

My ex boyfriend would always pee sitting down unless there were urinals. He was very partially sighted and had bad aim, so it was usually better for the walls if he sat to pee.

Yeah they do. My son tends to when he doesnt think he can trust his aim cos he's got fed up with having to clean the back of the toilet afterwards  :D

I know alot of guys are extremely shy about peeing at urinals or they find it easier to go when they sit. Personally I love standing to pee at urinals but even I sit sometimes...middle of the night.

I find this fascinating since I don't know a single guy who, to my knowledge, pees sitting down (unless really sick).

I know many guys who pee sitting down.

Personally, if I ever get that far along, I'm going to pee sitting down 'cause I can't see things very well if they're that close.

Guys who have a Prince Albert (piercing) have to sit down because otherwise they would make a mess.

When I read this I was like "Huh? Wouldn't they have too since your cellmate would be a girl?" and then I remember.

But I have encountered a few guys within the bathroom who pees sitting down. I don't think anyone cares or notices.

When I was in Germany, the guys who were hosting our group told me that they all pee sitting down. They were very anal [no pun intended] about not getting stains on their toilet seat.

There was newspaper article here, written by a guy, who went into how he thought urinals were disgusting and that he and many others used the stall as it was more civilised. I presume he meant to sit ::)

It probably doesn't count but before my girlfriend realized she was trans she always sat to pee. Like, since she was a kid. Whether it has something to do with her being trans, I dunno. Once she told me she just likes to.

I haven't asked anyone else how they pee XD not really something that comes up in conversation often.

Question about the stalls response. I don't really look, but I assume most guys would use the stall toilets but still pee standing up (like at home) instead of sitting.

that is what i was thinking. i was thinking that a guy using the stall would either pee standing up or be taking a s**t. that's all i thought there was to it. but apparently there is more to it than that.

Also some guys suffer from a symptom called Paruresis or "shy bladder syndrome" so will use a stall just to urinate.

My ex also told me once that many guys pee sitting down and I KNOW this for a fact as he used to do it, just through pure laziness, as someone else has mentioned earlier in this thread, although he also told me he has discussed this amongst his peers and most men won't admit to it.

Christ, guys, who cares about what a dude is doing to his johnson in the mens' room.

If anyone asks why you're sitting down to pee, remind them of this.

Guys sit to pee when they also have to poo.

You could just pretend to poo a lot.

Also entirely correct; the subject is simply not discussed, and observations are not made.  Any man offering any form of comment as to another man's activities in the men's room is out of line, and extremely suspect on several levels.

It's nice to see that words like "->-bleeped-<-got" are tolerated on this forum. It may be because I'm English but that word is still abhorrent to me  ::)

This is the most important thing to remember. Nobody really cares in the gent's and if they do it would be seen as their problem not yours. Men's toilets are not a meeting place to chat as they are with the ladies, just somewhere you go to relieve yourself.

While not generally employed in the course of civilized conversation, I thought it artfully chosen under these circumstances, given that no other single word or phrase seems to fully convey the abhorrence with which we, biological males, regard men who violate the boundaries of male sexual propriety.

Some guys pee sitting cause they feel more comfortable, not shy or anything...

I have a question:
What if you look really feminine? Like really petite? I guess in my case, I just look like a young boy, haha, but yeah. I suppose the answer is probably similar to the "guys don't care in the washroom" sort of thing. Maybe I'm just used to the whole kind of "judgmental" atmosphere, if you will, of a ladies washroom.

It doesn't matter what you look like. Just don't look at anyone (other than at their feet to see where they're going).  Don't stand within arm's length of anyone. For the love of God, don't touch anyone. That's all there is to it. They won't look at, get near, or touch you either.

For the record, though, the f* word hurts. And it was designed to hurt - to be derogatory - here. I'm kind of sensitive right now because I just signed off my online game where my best friend (actually gay) was being directly called that word, but I think I'd be a little upset by it in any circumstance.

That F* word is not to be used. I will edit the post. Obviously it was missed at the time.
