Title: Exchange Handouts
Post by: Crow on July 14, 2010, 09:37:24 PM
At long last, we have art for everyone, so handouts can happen! (Actually, one picture technically hasn't been finished, but it's in the process of being made, and there's a consolation prize of sorts in its place until it's all-the-way finished.)

The artists will be listed in small, white print under each picture, so people who want to guess can do so without the mystery being spoiled, but people who are curious can check and see who it's by. Also, since a lot of the pictures are kind of HUGE, I'm posting smaller versions of them on the board-- click the images to see the full versions. The thumbnail images are refusing to work, so everything is text links, instead. Sorry about the technical difficulties.

And now, without further ado, THE ART!

What few drawings I can see make me so jealous!  I wish I could draw like that!  Now I kind of want to pull out of the next exchange.

...argh blarg no, that doesn't work either! Ahhh, they're all dissappearing! What is wrong with thiiiiis.

Uhm, for now, er... the links on the broken images still work, so you can still see all the pictures! Just... not all on one board like I was trying for. OTL

(And nooo nonono, don't drop out, Shang! It's really not about skill so much as getting to know other artists and have fun, mostly. 83)

Crow, I don't know if it's my computer or not, but most of the pictures don't show up.

Yeah i know I don't know what the issue is.

...but all the links still work, so that will work for now, until I get things properly sorted out?

I can't find any links. =/  I'm curious to know what they all look like because so far, the four I can see, are really awesome.

(Don't worry, I'm not going to drop out. xD Though it's a bit tempting, but I like a challenge in art because i need to get better.)

The red Xs of the broken images link to bigger (and in this case, more functional) versions of the images.

...and in a moment, I'm going to have proper links up. Gimme a second to finish converting them all into text links, since they seem disinclined to work as images. D8

Hmm trying to edit the post to get the coding right. Perhaps it'd be best to just put the smaller image as the image, then link to the larger one underneath instead of trying to use the image itself as a link (which doesn't seem to be working anyway).

Everything worked fine in the preview, though, and I've checked through my coding about five times, now, to no avail. I'm pretty sure something is glitching, but I haven't a clue what. I'm switching everything to text linsk momentarily, though, so hopefully that will work?

Yeah I went through the coding you had some extra codes before the [/img] codes. so I deleted those, unfortunately that didnt' seem to fix it.

Post Merge: July 14, 2010, 10:05:57 PM

Yay! I get to see the pic made for me!

Farm Boy, IT'S AWESOME! I love what you did with the idea. 8)

There aren't any extra codes in the original document (I've been typing it in MS Word because my browser likes to crash), so if they're there, the internet is adding them. But i have it switched to text links, now-- I checked them, and they work on my computer. Are they working for everyone else?

Text links are working for me. So many awesome pics. *oogles*

Oh good, sounds like they're working, now! Crisis averted?

An that note: Thanks a buuuunch for the adorable picture, Jen! You somehow managed to cram ALL the little details I mentioned in-- M->-bleeped-<-ies, violets, rainbows, frogs, moths... you included it ALL! And the little quote at the top is lovely. <3 Thank yoooou!

Cool stuffs :).  Helena, don't worry too much about mine, I mostly wanted to draw something for somebody I didn't care about having something drawn for me.

Diane, if you want a version of your picture without the text, or if you want any of the characters by themselves for something, just let me know. :)

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, my pic has some backstory to it so for those who are interested in my thought process. The request was for a fighter jet of any style...

Inspiration: This was a fun piece as I have an interest in combat planes particularly those used during WWII. The jet I modeled mine after is the Messerschmitt Me 262 produced by the Luftwaffe for Nazi Germany. This was the world's first jet powered fighter aircraft. It's amazing to look back and see how planes like the Me 262 have influenced how planes are made today.

Drain I hope you like it. 8)

I would love to see a version without the text, actually! Seeing with- and without-text versions of things is always snazzy, since somehow things look astonishingly different with text than they do without~

wow this is all really awesome and really touching
i mean i've been following this casually but couldn't really participate since drawing is absolutely not my skill
seeing the results now one by one , it happened by accident that i was listening to Imogen Heap - Hallelujah . it honestly felt like.. wow (and by wow here i  mean something of a great meaning and gives a great feeling , but i can't find a word for that something)
oh and really nice work everyone :)

Fantastic! Thanks again. <3

Oh, one more thing-- what do you want me to credit you by? Do you have a website or accounts on any art websites, or shall I just credit you as "Jen?"

(Also, that was the code I was using, but I guess it didn't want to cooperate for a post with SO MANY images? Who knows. Oh well-- text links to the rescue!)

Just "Jen" is fine.  I guess you could link to my website (fullbloomdesign.com (http://fullbloomdesign.com)) but not necessary.  I don't even care if you credit me at all, tbh  :P.

These are all really nice, I especially liked the one for Vexing. I wish I could do that.

Meh, the stretching really makes my picture look weird. A new computer doesn't seem to be in my near future though.

Wow Min, you don't know how close you really are. Wine, reading a lot and sitting much like you drew as well as the clothes.  I guess personality does come through a bit.

Thank you.

All the pics are great. I owe an apology. Life got in the way and I did not finish. Family stuff basically.

I will get it finished...the ironic thing for it is the inspiration for the idea was my complete lack of inspiration. It's a work in progress and coming together quite nicely. hehe

I dug around the forums, even old backlog, and found little tidbits here and there I decided to incorporate, using the "clever ruse" of a snazzy hat to remove the need to actually put a face on there.
I put the tree-stump for table and the "lack of shoes" there to add that little hint of playfulness that comes across now and then, and the colours are added by painting with red wine and coffee.
Really happy you like it.
I ofcourse, like any perfectionist/artist, see nothing but the flaws. ;)
